Just recently subscribed Colors on TV and came across this show. Kinda got curious about it.

Could anyone just give me a gist of the show and also a small character sketch? It would be quite helpful to understand...

The story revolves around the three leads, Tejo, Fateh and Jasmin. Jasmin is a bratty, self centrered, Karen who is also a Canada obsessed freak, just like majority of her family while the Tejo on the other hand loves her country and village, who doesn't subscribe to her family's obsession but since she is among the minority she finds it difficult to evade the pressure she faces especially from both her mother and Jasmin to move to Canada even though she is independentand very talented. Initially she had the option to move to Canada for further studies but chose to study in Punjab much against her families expectations who then force her to participate in some stupid ball which is like a beauty pageant for getting married to an NRI. Jasmin had been participating in that ball since many years but is unable to win in any of the seasons so she convinced Tejo to participate in it as she believes her chances of winning are higher. But there they run into some guy called Jass who manages the event to target women who are desperate to move overseas with the intention of defrauding them under the pretext of a fake marriage. Even though Tejo emerges as one of the winners at the ball Jass sabotaged the same by changing the details of her entry form and gets her humiliated publicly as it is assumed that she had lied about herself in the application after which he goes after the Sandhus and gives them a marriage proposal for Tejo which she rejects in the beginning but Jasmin pushes and convinces her to accept his proposal as she is desperate to move to Canada herself, after Jas and Tejo get married on the wedding night he abscond with all the dowry and gifts he received from the Sandhu family leaving Tejo shattered but gets caught later through Tejo, Fateh and Jasmin's efforts.

How does Fateh fit into this story? Well he is obsessed and infatuated with Jasmin for only God knows what reason, maybe because he finds her pretty unaware of the fact that she is hell bent on moving to Canada while he on the other hand is sort of bit patriotic to an extent and wants to represent India for some boxing tournament. Initially he runs into Tejo while pursuing Jasmin unaware of the fact that they're both sisters and has several tiffs with her as they dont get along with each other in the beginning until he finds out she is Jasmin's sister and when he helped her catch Jass who defrauds her. Tejo knowing what Fateh feels for Jasmin agrees to help him out as a friend after seeing his devotion towards Jasmin who's only priority is to marry a guy who is settled in Canada and this has been clearly communicated to him by both the sisters so he gets a job in Canada against his dad's wishes and compromises with his own dreams just for her sake. He manages to convince his dad and the wedding gets fixed and the rest I guess you would know already..

So, Tejo wants to stay in Punjab and Jasmin on the other hand is completely obsessed with Canada.

Just curious, does she simply want to get married and go to Canada? Matlab isko khud se mehnat nahi karni hai kya?? Why can't she go to Canada by her own hardwork?

Also, okay that she is obsessed with Canada and doesn't consider anything else important in front of her dream but why the hell did she create such a ruckus at the wedding? Matlab for her dream, she'll let her family be ridiculed at??

Fateh just because he 'fell in love with' Jasmin decided to compromise with his own dream just for the sake of Jasmin's dream? Also, was he just infatuated by Jasmin's looks because frankly speaking, going by the character sketch, I don't find one proper reason for him to fall for her apart from her looks...

Also, what is exactly this Sandhu family's obsession with Canada? I mean the entire family is just obsessed with settling in Canada... But as per your update and the written updates that I checked, I don't find them doing any efforts apart from finding an NRI groom...

Btw, off topic but your username seems familiar... Were you by any chance a member of either Nazar or Beyhadh 2 forum??

Wow that was a really nice explanation, if you dont mind me asking. Can you tell me how did they caught Jas? I havent watched a single epi of that track so I had no idea this happened at all, i thought Jas was stil not found, and here I was thinking that how sandhus can afford this marriage after jas abscond with everything..

Sorry my mistake, they didn't catch Jas, they caught his mom. It was Jasmin's incognito avatar which led the trio to Jas and had him cornered as a result of which he was forced to surrender his loot back to the Sandhu family however yes he escapes but his mom gets caught and she is expected to lead the cops to him.

Yes, I was in both thr forums. In nazar I wanted Mohana to be a good dayan and in beyhadh 2 I wanted Maya to make the Roys pay for what they did to her.

The reason Sandhu family is obsessed with Canada from what I could tell is that they are sick of India or more like think India is some sort of a hell while Canada is a paradise.

Yes, Jasmin's only plan is to get married to someone who is settled in Canada as a way of migrating to that country just like how some people marry the locals in U.S.A to obtain the green card or the citizenship of that country. The reason she wants to go there via marriage is because she sucks at studies, doesn't seem interested in getting a job or developing herself which is also one of the reasons why I think her character is unappealing, she even thought of getting a fake visa to move to Canada illegally. As for her family, they have tried other means, I guess Tejo and Jasmin's dad had tried to find a job there but wasn't successful in it, however Tejo had the option to move there but declined ther offer like I mentioned before.

Regarding their Dadi, her reason is she wants to see her estranged daughter that's why she is obsessed with Canada. Either way this Canada obsession of the Sandhu family is quite annoying.

Coming to Fateh, yeah it's Jasmin's looks and her childish behaviour and antics which I guess he finds cute.

I had a thought that she might suck at studies... But rather than putting some efforts in that direction, all her efforts are directed towards getting married to a Canada citizen?
