Im not regular audiance of Indian idol. I haven't followed any other season just watched very few performances on sm or YouTube randomly.

I have started watching this season because of Arunita Kanjilal because i loved her so much in saregamapa lil champs.

I like the contestants talent and judges in the show but I don't like the format. Personally I don't like public involvement in judging upcoming singers because lot of people won't understand intricacies of music how can they judge someone. So whether its biased or unbiased I prefer judges over public. Because of voting the winner is quite predictable in most seasons which I don't like. There should be tough competition among contestants till finals and equal opportunities to show their talent. I find regional music shows better most of the time. For me this show is far better than TV serials but not upto mark in a competition.

They are singing for the public why is it important for the public to be a PhD in music.

It is meant for light entertainment if you like someone vote or move on.

These are not platforms for future playback singers or international singers just a mild recreation and a platform for a budding singer to earn temporary fame.

True. But problem is public are not taking stuff that lightly just making a mess out of everything in social media. I personally feel people are getting emotionally connected because they are voting them every week.

The contestants are good but the judging/production is the worst. Seldom see these judges do any actual judging- they are only there to stand on top of tables, touch contestants’ feet, give OTT reactions for content, etc. I’ve seen many singing shows and other judges will both compliment and give constructive criticism (like they are supposed to) which is totally missing here... even the special guests do more. Also the judges/content team are the ones who most influence public perception by only highlighting select contestants and coming up with lowlife storyline and AVs for TRP.

All in all I pity the contestants who are genuinely talented for having to deal with this drama just to get some recognition in an over saturated market.

These are symptoms of Reality Show Sucker Syndrome.

It happens when you get over attached to these on screen personalities. distance yourself from them and try to see things as they are the public may be right in some way.

Totally agree .

The judges of this season are the worst. and the chief guests are even more.

It is the most corrupt show on TV in terms of reality a serious investigation needs to be done to expose the makers and ban them from forcing trash on the viewers in future.

TRP's of a show do not indicate content or quality the public has no choice.

Talent always shines it always find its way.

Rahul Vaidya is still relevant today even after 15-16 years though he never won whereas Sawant has not been able to carve an identity beyond being the winner and is busy advising Amit Kumar....

II12 survives only for the contestants. There is no other reason. The judges, the creative team are the worst. Adi is an average anchor.

Indian Idol is far behind than the original SaReGaMaPa in 90's hosted by Sonu Nigham.

The success of talent hunt singing competition will depend on finding out real talent as winner through neutral procedure involving learned judges. TRP should not be the main factor. The show has failed significantly in maintaining neutrality, it could not treat all contestants equally. So, it failed miserably as a singing competition.

Yes, in TRP earning the show is successful. TRP score depends on so mamy external factors. Availability of quality programs at the same period is one of those factors. If there is scarcity of quality program in a specific period, an average program can come in the top list of TRP. Now you have to think what was the purpose of idol competition throughout the world. Earning TRP or finding out real talent as champion through an unbiased neutral procedure.

I like to watch II12 for the contestants. They are very good. No doubt about that. May be some of the contetants are more learned about music than the judges. Substandard judges are one of major reasons for failure of II as a singing competition.
