They are, but that tune is especially haunting, and Sai nailed it with his expressions. Even in the dark you could see the pain in his eyes. I love him in such subtle scenes.

But it's true, if you don't have self-respect and dignity in a relationship, your partner won't respect you either. And this is Pallavi we're talking about, she doesn't respect him since day 1.
