Finally, I can get back to this post which is fantastic, full of perspective and different viewpoints.

Well, needless to say, that Shivi were the one who attracted me back to the show after Gaura’s Pyaar!

I didn't realise what attracted me towards Shivi, but I know why?

Let's address the reasons for the attraction between them and the strange tension that prevails in the atmosphere whenever they are around each other.

A. Anger, Arousal and a curious case of erotic rage.

Have you ever wondered why the World celebrates angry heroes in fantasies, and their fixation tropes are so popular not only in pop culture but any form of literature that revolved around romance?

The answer is pretty simple, which lies in introductory biology/Psychology. Did you know that the body physiology during anger mimics that of sexual arousal given the surge of adrenaline that has the same consequence when you are attracted to someone on a very primal level.

That's why you'd see most people who hate each other and consider themselves forbidden tend to have strange physical compatibility. Certain studies have revealed that people crave to remain closer physically to their object of hatred or anger. The touch gives them a sense of sanity amidst all those heightened rages that program their body for sexual intimacy.

It isn't effortless, but there are high chances that your brain is telling your body to react in a Certain way. It tells you are in a state of emergency to interact with your object of physically anger or hatred.

Now, I am sure; you'd understand the push-pull and madness between the two dorks. Shiva is involved more, given his fixation and channelising all his anger towards her. It's a very frustrating situation to be in! On the one hand, your brain tells you to feast on your object you hate and on the other, you look at the natural world around you. This chemistry is palpable between the both and exudes the obvious. So, the manhandling is more Shiva fighting his frustration than actually hating upon her.

B. Emotional Intimacy Vs Physical Compatibility

These stereotypical couples share strange physical compatibility rather than any form of emotional intimacy. That's why you'd see their pre-wedding scenes are fire as compared to the Post-wedding ones. There is a slow gravitational shift towards their journey of emotional Familiarity and eventually, finding peace. If you see, Shiva’s emotional journey has started the moment he saw Raavi hanging from that noose.

Their blockage is not their physical familiarity; you'd slowly see Raavi getting physically attracted to him very quickly despite her hatred. Why? Simply because her object of fixation is now Shiva, too, unlike pre-wedding where she was in a La La Land with Dev. Her mind will soon burst into flames, given the level of anger she is harbouring for him. Such fire is frustrating and disruptive, given your body dancing on your head. Trust me; if she were half non-dissing towards Shiva post her wedding, it would have been a tornado for both of them together to act up on their already bottled up attraction coupled with rage.

Tables have turned a bit; as you can see, the frustration of Shiva is at ease now. Generally, men become subconsciously stable once they know that the woman belongs to them. Her heart might still be in her past, but Shiva knows that her physical being is around him and belongs to him only at a subconscious level.
Remember, the Haq and audacity with which he claims his rights to do things to her, and he’d kill anyone who claims a stake at his place. A classic case of territorial aggression against anyone who’d dare claim a physical space around her.

This is ITV and for Sanskaari Raavi, Dev should now be as good as a log of wood, so they aren't focussing much on that. Just go back to the strange glance of the kidnapping scene where Dev holds her shoulders and see Shiva’s expressions. Leave Raavi and Dev in some situation and then be ready to witness Tandav by Shiva 😆. Well, well, It's ITV 🤪

You'd now see Shiva pulling her in anger only when she withholds his physical dominance over her. But, Raavi’s frustrations are growing by the day.

Well, as much it sounds easy for Suhaag, Bindi and Sindoor to give them ‘Haq’ over each other, the challenge is not their marital status; the cacophony of their craziness is a lot to deal with.

They are compatible physically in a crazy way, but their journey towards emotional intimacy is a very long one!! Hence, their gradual transformation is a slow burn than their instant compatibility.

C. Dominance, Challenge and Aggression

Hate or anger also triggers a flight or fight response in people. You'd see, in most of the scenes pre-wedding, Shiva is either shirking her away or towering her with his ‘Sher jaisi Badi Ankhein’ as pointed out by Raavi 🤪

It's all about dominance, then! The game of who opposes the enemy better. That's why you'd see them challenging each other most of the time. Like Raavi admiring how sensuous Shiva looks in his shirt and then immediately trying to tell him through her eyes that she looks better.

There is a whole exciting dynamics that could have been explored had this been a web show. But, sadly this is the Pandya store-TRP run show. Haha! Wait, till Sindoor Dhaga etc become their basis of union.
😆

Well, that's it for now from my side.
P.S- This looks like a freaking college essay 🤣🤣

This is such a well-informed, informative and compelling post! I really admire your willingness to spend time arranging these thoughts to share with us - provides us a peak into the psyche of these characters. Your post makes so much sense wrt to Shiva and Raavi, and it's made all the more impactful for me personally because I read this at a point in the story where I've come to have a solid understanding of their nature and behaviour as opposed to when I initially made this post - at the time it was all guesswork based on scarce and ambiguous scenes. A very good juxtaposition to analyse as a viewer honestly!

Thank you for the detailed post, and no, I don't think anybody will mind your lovely college essays 😆❤️

🤣🤣 Brevity is not my forte, and I have often been reprimanded for the same. I wanted to come back to his thread from a long time. I have the habit of watching shows as a whole and then find out what, in totality, the makers want to say.

This super long essay is a part of the same thought process. 😆
