Shiva stopped counting the notes as he saw that chipkali getting down from the auto and rushing towards the store. He was the only one at the shop as dev and gaumbi had gone home for lunch.
“Tu dimaag khane aa gaye mera fir….” She shut him up by hugging him tightly. He couldn’t understand what was happening.
“Abey maami ke behen ke beti, chipkali ke tarah kyu chipak rahi hain mujse, dimaag toh kharab nahi ho gaya?” he said, pushing her away but she continued to give him1000 watt smile.
“Khushi ke maare ho he gaya hain, tera bhi ho jayega khushkhabri sunkar”
“Acha, votoh tab he ho sakta hain jab tu 2-4 saal ke liye kahi dur chali jaye”
“Tu bol le,aaj jo bolna hain bol, bilkul nahi jhagdungi” he raised his eyebrows at that “par haan ab apni jangliyo wali harkate band karde nahi toh sooch bache par kya asar padega”
“Kaunsa bacha, kya bak rhi hain tu?” he really couldn’t understand what was going on.
“Mubarak ho,chacha banne wala hai tu”
He really couldn’t believe his ears “Tu agar jhoot bol rahi hain na toh….” He spoke
“Tujhe lagtahai aise baat ka Mazak banungi?” she seemed genuinely hurt at that accusation and he knew even before she asked this question that she wouldn’t joke about a sensitive issue like that , but he still couldn’t believe her after all these years, after all the taunts his bhabi had to bear over the years she was finally getting the happiness she deserved.
Shiva held her hand main sach main chacha banne wala hu matlab bhabhi” he asked her again”she shook her head in yes.
The look on Shivas face was one that Raavi knew she would never forget, he looked at her like she had hung the moon and stars for him. She couldn’t remember ever seeing him so happy and unguarded. When dhara di had told everyone that news she was about to call Shiva, Raavi had no idea what came over her that she volunteered to go fetch shiva herself but what she did know now was that she was never going to regret it.
“ghar par the jab Di ne baat batai bas tu nahi that oh maine bola ke phone par nahi,yeh baat tujhe ja kar bataungi, ghar jaa sab wait kar rahe hain tera, dukaan par main baith jaati hun”
He was both surprised and touched by her gesture but didn’t have enough time to think about it.
“Shivaa…”her voice stopped him just as he was going to start the bike and he turned back, she smiled at him softly “congratulations”
He couldn’t help giving her a smile “tujhe bhi”
