Love discussions on his education and and agree with everyone here..Whener people call him that especially Raavi, the way she said "complete Gawar" it rubbed me the wrong way. Like one of you said, they are mentioning this awfully a lot lately. And hope it's just not to show Raavi's hate towards him, but there's some sentimental connection.

That's a great observation, but I think they may have been a blooper. When Rishita came out, it seemed like it was her room.

Thanks! Honestly I have very little knowledge about the education system in India. Here in the US, having a high school diploma is the min requirement. But to secure a solid job, one needs a Bachelors or Masters. Just like you, I would like to know more as well. I do feel like everyone calling Shiva gawar and such is leading to something. Maybe him opening up and making those around him realize that it’s okay to be different and to want something different from life. But that doesn’t give them the right to call him such names. I just hope these words are not just being used to be “funny” or show “nok jhok”... it should be properly addressed esp for respect to build between ShiVi.

Perhaps we have similar education systems. In the UK you'll get an education until 16, after that it's your choice which route to take (further education, apprenticeships, jobs etc). It's often portrayed that if you get a degree then your job prospects are much better. It does help but it's not always true, now alot of people struggle due to a lack of experience. One of the views that some desi households have are that you should get a degree just for the sake of saying you have one, plus you can mention it when you get married or something. Somehow even if you never utilise your education in life it makes you somewhat higher in society. Then there's those people who get an education later in life because they want to (Yay to them!). It's just personal choice isn't it.

Shiva is not against education, I remember him telling Krish to focus on his education during the smoking issue. As far as I can see Shiva's always been more attached to the store, they have a family business which he wants to be a part of, he's always been family orientated, he wants to help his brother out, he's hardworking towards it and would just rather utilise his energy towards that. That's how I feel anyway, that's why I'd like scenes where we see him working hard for his family and Raavi witnessing this. He may not be inclined towards education but it doesn't mean he lacks ambition. Also look at how much experience he has now, he's hardly a failure because he doesn't want what others want. After getting a basic education, you'd rather want someone to go for what they're passionate about than getting depressed over something you don't want to do. Shiva is actually really smart too! He has the ability to think differently and try to problem solve. We've seen that in a few of the episodes. And helping in running a family business needs some major entrepreneurial skills and qualities!

Like you I do believe it's going somewhere, it might be difficult to just listen to it all. I hate those words with a passion. But atleast it'll lead to a bigger conversation. Hopefully they'll show that you can't label someone just to be hurtful towards them, it doesn't make them any less. And I hope it'll maybe help the viewers reflect on their behaviour too. Do we as viewers use such words towards people without thinking?

Personally, I would be a bit ticked off if they overlook this and simply use it for arguments... Respect is so important in a relationship. Just like Shiva needs to respect Raavi and treat her properly (stop the manhandling, maintain good hygiene, etc...), Raavi also needs to understand that these are not words you simply toss around. If she cannot respect him & believes him to be unfit for her, then it’s best to not stay in that relationship. As much as I love them, I want them to grow in a healthy & positive way. I’ll enjoy their nok jhoks more if they respect each other and are mindful of what they say/do.

Yep I was a bit confused at that part 😆 let’s see how the scene continues today.

💯 I agree with each and every word and your bring up such valid points!! I really hope the writers use what they built up to give a strong message! I would hate for this to get brushed under the carpet. Of course given the current situation, I’m not going to go too hard on them but this is an important aspect & not that difficult to weave into the story! I for one believe that college (and even marriage) is not for everyone! And not everyone wants the same thing in life! It’s best to figure out your individual needs and utilize your time wisely!

And those needs/desires can change as well! And that’s okay! Honestly having a degree for the heck of it means nothing! What’s more important is how you use your time & resources!

I would love if they build this up and give us a beautiful message through Shiva! I think it’ll make all the scenes that follow so much more honest and heartfelt to watch! Let’s see what’s in store but I really hope they don’t gloss over it.

Exactly! The last couple of days I was watching the pre leap episodes. there are a couple of episodes, where Shiva finds it so hard to see that Gombie is working so hard and he cant help him. He will do anything for his family and i think school is not a priority for him. He is working very hard in the store and it gives him much more satisfaction then school. Not everyone is made for school.

I also think that a degree doesn’t make you better, smarter etc. My litle sister completed 4 years of high school, she them tried a couple of other studies but didn’t like it. She doesn’t like to study But she has a lot of life and working experiences. Me on the other hand “eternal student”, with a couple of degrees who can’t find a job. Hahaha 🤣

Hopefully they'll show that you can't label someone just to be hurtful towards them, it doesn't make them any less.”

I love this! I always say “ calling someone ugly does not make you prettier.

But for now we have to be patience and hopefully they will discuss this. 😊
