Raavi and Mulla both were angry at their husbands. In some ways, you could even say it was an irrational form of anger that they showed only to their spouse and to no one else. Both of them used words such as "uneducated, dirty, uncouth" to describe their spouses, and their spouses reacted negatively hearing these words. They also easily forgave the Dhara character.

In terms of differences, this is what I've noticed:

Kathir is a silent angry while Shiva is a lot more expressive and forthcoming with his anger. Both of them would do anything for their families, but Shiva appears to have a touch of innocence to him (he's probably younger than Kathir as he is only 21-23 max). Kathir always seemed mature to me, far more mature for his age even. But Shiva always appeared like a wandering boy trying to hold onto what he knew best (which in this case is his family). Raavi is a lot more bubbly/airheaded of a character while Mulla was a little bit rougher on the edges in terms of personality.

My thoughts of the possible breakdown:

I personally don't think it's coming. The past few episodes have been a lot of hot/cold/hot/cold. Some days the tension is high, and some days, it seems like ShiVi is back to business as usual. Also, I agree with many of the points you all have made prior, why would Shiva break down if Maami has been taunting him with those things all along? It wouldn't be new for him to hear, especially now.

In the original, it wasn't Maami's words. It was Raavi's words that caused the breakdown. He felt suffocated in a marriage where his wife didn't even see him as a person (kept calling him "uneducated, dirty, uncouth"). Now, in this version, Raavi's anger seems to be fluctuating. In some ways, it seems inconsistent (when I compare her to Mulla), and in some ways it seems totally consistent (especially when looking at her character separate from Mulla). Raavi in this version seems way to bubbly and airheaded to really cause enough damage for a breakdown...

Another argument against the breakdown is that Shiva is pretty upcoming about his anger. He lets out his anger in short bursts, so he never really has the chance/time to burst. Those names do seem to be affecting him, but I also think his actions in later scenes pretty much are a way for him to release his anger. So it would be awkward if he just up and up became affected by someone's words.

What could cause the turning point in ShiVi's relationship?

I'm thinking more and more that ShiVi will be stuck in some sort of dangerous position (maybe get stranded alone while coming back to Somnath), and in that trip, Raavi and Shiva fight. Raavi refuses to listen to Shiva, and that is when in frustration, he reveals the whole truth in anger/bitterness.

But, I guess this bonfire + Maami's arrival will give us more insight on what's to come.

Thank you, Avi!

Them getting stuck somewhere alone would be the key. Shiva, is way more sorted. Plus, Raavi and him call each other all sorts of names. I'm getting a picture of how Mulla and Khathir were compared to our ShiVi.

They might have some similarities as it is a remake but otherwise, there is nothing common. Raavi's anger is not as crazy. You are right, she oscillates. Plus, in this version, I see that both aren't registering the marriage. They know they are married, they both didn't want divorce but they really aren't recognizing the husband-wife relationship. Both need to be put in a situation where they are forced to rely on each other.

These two do know each other but their hatred/bickering overshadows it. Plus, Mami's fear is Raavi alone with Shiva. Guess what her fears comes to pass 😆

This is what it feels like to me!!

And you’re right! Shiva is a strong character, I don’t want that shifted with sympathy from everyone, as much as I like soft MLs, we already have Gaumbi and Dev for that here!

And yes! Super curious as to what Dhara’s new approach to Raavi will be ♥️

Yes!! I don't want sympathy to come into play! Shiva doesn't need sympathy. His attitude towards life is if you want to get to know me you will. If you can't understand me then you don't belong with me.

Raavi belongs with him, she just needs to see him in a different light. Maybe whatever Dhara has planned will shake a memory loose in her from their childhood that had everything to do with Shiva!!

She also admits that her goal, really, was to get a loving husband (which she eventually does when Shiva and her fall in love).

As for Raavi, considering the extensive childhood relationship she has with Shiva (I love the idea of exploring it further), I have a feeling she will come to comment on the fact of never loving Dev. Just loving the idea of becoming a Pandya bahu (and Dev was the only one who could make it true as he was "nice" to her)

Plus it being an ITV show, whenever the FL likes a different guy before marriage, she acknowledges this. It's a tried trope of ITV.

I agree with a lot of the reasoning happening here that Shiva might not have a breakdown but I feel like something will happen! I cant shake that feeling like something is building up.

I want that too! And that makes more sense wth all the differences between the original and this version that you’ve put down.

There was the lake. Both can fall in and end up somewhere else all alone and having to rely on each other and learning to trust each other!! I like this way better!!

Both are confident in their own skin kinda people!!

Understandable, but here's an interesting perspective. I don't know if this scene was in the original (don't think I came across it), but in the Telugu version, Raavi had a tattoo of Dev's initials. Raavi's friend accidentally blurts this factoid out because she assumes Raavi married Dev (never came to the wedding). Rishita overhears this and is none too pleased. Shiva also overhears this right before he leaves to go to the shop.

Raavi is scared the tattoo will cause a misunderstanding, and quite some heavy scenes occurred. However, when Shiva and Raavi sat down to talk, Shiva told her that it was okay if Raavi liked someone before marriage. What mattered most was whether Raavi liked Shiva after marriage, and Shiva knew with confidence that Dev was no longer in Raavi's mind.

I thought it was an interesting way for them to handle the concept of FL likes another guy before marriage.

If at all we get a breakdown or emotional scene, I would prefer something subtle and personal between ShiVi. Like a hurt/comfort moment rather than a breakdown. Given how and why it happened in the other versions, I don’t see it playing out the same way here. A beautiful emotional moment between the two would be much more impactful in my opinion. It can be the first step to them opening up, talking about what hurts them and how the other can do better. Essentially a new beginning for both without either having to truly change who they are.

With that thought, I’m going to say goodnight! I look forward to reading more tomorrow morning! Stay safe n healthy everyone 🤍

Yeah, plus our buddy Janardhan can sponsor the getaway (he and Kamini can get the screen space they always crave). He can provide goons and chipkalis and some good strong shirts (in case Shiva's shirt breaks during a fight scene). Or we can do without the shirts... that's fine too😆
