Waqt - The Race Against Time (2005)....such an UNDERRATED film!

I'm susprised. Waqt is such a good film, fond memories of it from my childhood. Yet, it hardly has any recognition. It's verdict at the box office was only 'Average'. Even on IMDB, even though it has a strong rating of 6.8/10, it only has around 9000 votes.

A solid story, incredible performance by Amitabh Bachchan, and very good performance by Akshay, particularly when confronting Amitabh. Priyanka didn't have as much meat to her role but she did well nonetheless.

What do you all think about this film? Why doesn't it have much popularity? Why wasn't it a major hit at the box office, despite having all the ingredients: big stars, solid storyline, popular music, hilarious comedy, etc.

Funny story. I watched this movie on CD, so I accidentally watched CD2( second half) of the movie first. Was so confused for the longest time.😆

Songs are good but it was too melodramatic. They tried to make it a Dharma movie but alas no.

Akshay and priyanka always looked hot and great together. Loved the songs. But the movie didn’t even bother watching fully. I only watched few scenes of the movie years ago don’t remember the story line but I think it was like father son duo. They should’ve worked on the story more and it would’ve been good. I wanted to see this pairing more often, this was their last movie together because twinkle refused no more pc. Would’ve loved to see more pc with original nose and face with Akshay in movies

What happened to Vipul Shah?

He made some enjoyable films like Aankhen, Waqt and Namastey London. Completely lost it after London Dreams, which had good songs but kinda boring movie. It's been all downhill since. Produced some decent films too, but ever since akshay moved on, he hasn't been the same.

I enjoyed it in 2005..now i cannot ever see this movie again..this or any movie based on cancer..after losing my mom to it some months ago..i cannot even..i have often enjoyed all these movies be it Waqt..we are family..kal ho na ho..all of which i saw and enjoyed with my mom..but after having going through this..i would need a lot of healing to sit through anything like this in a long long time..sorry for the rant but its all very personal for me now..i always wondered while seeing these movies..how does one cope with it..and i would always thank the lord as well that my family isn't going through it..but such is life..the word "last stage" haunted me then when i saw this movie and haunts me terribly now..

I think 1st half of the movie was quite fun, especially Boman Irani and Rajpal yadav.

Rajpal yadav's act was pure class

I remember liking it but now other than Rajpal Yadav bits on YT, I don’t think I have patience to sit through the entire movie.
