New Musical Show on Sony - Article

Talk about sticking to the musical genre, our Gajendra Singh's quite focused on dishing out music to our Indian viewers. He said, "The show is a singing reality show. It is different from all other shows. Here we have families competing with one another for the title. There have to be minimum of 3 participants from each family. The concept of the show will be more on the lines of the gharana format that we had in 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa'."

After roping in children, Gajendra Singh's going with the trend of bringing together families a la like Zee's 'Rock and Roll Family'. So, is the famed SMS voting system still going to decide which family is in and which family is out?

He was a little hesitant to disclose the voting pattern. He probably realizes that the system is flawed and if you have titans of the music industry on the show, then the SMS system would mar the show. Cagey, he said, "I would like the announcement to come officially from the channel."

Talking about following the trend, he says, "There is a demand for family viewing. And, daily soaps have reached their saturation point. Music is something that everyone loves and at some point, everyone aspires to be a musician. So, what is wrong in following something that is in demand?"

The auditions are already underway. Well, with Gajendra Singh riding the helm, if there is one thing that we can be assured of, then that is quality singing. The vision that he sees for this show is a little different from the routine shows that we are subjected to.

'Waar Parivar' is slotted to go on air from April 28 on Sony Entertainment Televison.
