I have theories on why he was quiet.......but I think Shaurya will have to tell Anokhi his reasons.

It has to be hard to talk back to your mother....someone who has "given up her life" to raise you another woman's son......Shaurya is just thankful to her to be wanted.....he doesn't want to tarnish Devi's image of him. Anokhi is giving him all the motivation to talk back though!!!

Yes that is what he expects.. Actually he directly asks her that as well.. Don't listen to others, don't judge based on what u see, just have faith on what I say..

Actually true love doesn't depend on how much the other person feels..

SS was ready to cross all hadh even when he didn't realise the depth of her feelings.. Anokhi forgets self-preservation when SS is hurt..

In addition he was caught off the guard and shocked to believe what is family just did. There was a delay between brain and action. He gone numb

He did not want to make scene there for his respect to BM. His confrontation with BM is also shown just between two of them.
