Re-watched October and here is my review:
October is beautiful and poignant. An unhurried love story that dwells on life's little moments and monumental tragedies in equal measure and deftly weaves a tale of longing and loss. This could be director Shoojit Sircar's best work yet though the true winners are the brilliant script by Juhi Chaturvedi and the evocative background score of Shantanu Moitra. Watch it also for the remarkable debut by Bonita Sandhu as the broken Sheuli and Geetamjali Rao's sensitive portrayal of the resilient mother. But mostly for Varun Dhawan for whom it is a coming-of-age film, a fulfilment of the potential he showed in Badlapur.. And the Bengali in me loved the analogy of a flower that blooms briefly in autumn, only to wither and die the next morning.
Does anyone else love this movie?
