I don't like Karthik Aryan's movies, I don't like the messages they give, I don't like the vibe he gives off.

However, this guy has delivered hits without the backing of big names.

None of his other producer/directors have said anything about unprofessional behavior.

The movie was said to focus on a gay couple from the get-go, so it is unlikely Karthik suddenly developed homophobia after 1/2 the film was shot.

Karthik has the rep of being a ladies' man, but he has worked quite professionally with his supposed ex in LAK. His other colleagues haven't had anything bad to say about him.

If it is about acting, Jhanvi is a much weaker actor. I think she has great potential to be a star, but she's not at Karthik Aryan level at this time in acting or stardom.

KJo has let Brahmastra go on and on and on when Ranbir's only hit in recent years was Sanju which ran on Hirani's name and the controversy. Alia's last costume drama was a miserable failure.

If it were date issues, Dharma could've straight up said so. If it were creative differences, Dharma could've straight up said so.

This whole thing smells fishy. From the direction of Dharma, not Karthik.

Dostana has been getting delayed since 2019 since Kartik kept refusing to give dates. Mainstream heroes are not going to play gay. Maybe he was initially okay with it since it was his entry into Dharma but now he doesn't need KJo.

The only other options are Tiger and Vicky but I think they will decline a gay role too. No way will Ranveer or Ranbir agree either. Everyone else is too old. This movie will end up getting shelved unless they don't mind making it with someone new.

He should go with Sid or Emraan

Date issues apply when you are signing on to a film. After you start filming that film should be the one you give priority of dates to. You don't say you don't want to film because of COVID then sign on to another film and do that film. That's not date issues. That's lying to and screwing over your producer/director and co-stars to make another movie. That's unprofessional.

If Kartik didn't like his co-star or the script of the film then he shouldn't have signed on to it. Creative differences is what's normally cited before you start filming. Sure it happens after and in some cases a star is big enough or they've invested enough money they let the star have their way, or the star isn't powerful enough and the director/producer has their way. In this case it looks to be a power struggle and KJO is willing to swallow 20cr and recast.

KJO still though could have just said Creative Differences or Dates Issues. That he hasn't probably means he's truly pissed.

Brahmastra has gone on and one because of the director doesn't seem to know how to end it. After a reputed 300cr plus investment there's not much KJO could do unless he boots the director and finishes it himself. In a way the pandemic made the choice to stick with the director easier because it can't be released now anyway. Far easier to swallow 20cr than to mess around with a 300cr film.

Truly pissed would've meant spilling the beans on what happened. KJo is no reticent businessman for anyone to think otherwise.

That's why the whole thing gives the vibe of KJo cannot admit to the reason without being pilloried.

He is putting out this idea Karthik didn't want to do the film and got himself deliberately kicked out without actually saying so in so many words. No chance of KJo being accused of lying, because hey, he never actually said it.

Once again, saying date issues or creative differences would've been the easy way out for KJo. That he isn't saying it is what makes it reek.

He has been promoting mediocrity and plastic surgery but an average looker from outside his circle is definitely made feel like shit. His favouritism and shit is evident, unless u kiss butt of course.

He doesn't have to control Rani and Kareena, they are his friends and so they share too many similar traits. Snobbery is their middle name.

So if he can be petty on camera, imagine what he's like off camera.

I don't say Kartik is perfect, but this entire situation does not add up. Kartik might have decided to associate with Dharma coz he must have made felt like he belonged there and he saw it as an opportunity to move to A List movies...but its only once u enter a zone you find out what's good and bad about it.

Again these are my thoughts, u may or may not agree with them.

Thanks for the essay, but making a list of reasons why you dislike Karan Johar does not equal to proof that he is in the wrong and Karthik Aryan is in the right.
