I don't mind Shaurya being dark as long as he doesn't turn a new leaf overnight. The reasons for his change should be visible to us. It will be interesting to see him trying to stealthily sabotage Anokhi's career or manipulate her into giving it up. But it should not reach maniacal levels. Like when he realises that his machinations are pushing her away, he should reflect on his behaviour. That is the best quality about him. He is not completely insensitive. He ponders over the consequences of his actions. His misogyny cannot be removed by his love for Anokhi alone. His issues with his mother need to be addressed as well. It will be wrong to say people don't change at his age. They do, but the reasons have to be strong enough.

True....people do not change at this age....shaurya will basically be the same...but his deep feelings for anokhi may not allow him to manipulate her...

I do want them to explore Shaurya's dark side. I can see how they can use it to create a possible separation track.

Shakhi are engaged but Devi reminds Shaurya how Anokhi is exactly like Aastha and when the time comes, she too wouldn't hesitate to leave the house for her own "selfish" desires. Triggered by his abandonment issues, he'd ask Anokhi if she would leave her dreams for him and when she refuses, he accuses her of betrayal. Atp, I would like to see Anokhi breaking the engagement and walking away herself. This separation would make Shaurya realise his wrong ways and become the turning point of his life.

But I've got very low expectations from iTV.

I just mentioned one show- The Big Bang... I have watched Modern family, but that show does not have any individual character growth, just relationships growth.. hence it became kind of monotonous after a point... Anupama.... I had highly different expectation from that show, but over there strong headed practical woman like Rakhi are turning into AnuRaj supporters... It sucks! But that's like super high on TRP with terrible terrible terrible male lead... I cannot imagine people forgiving some loser like Vanraj but if that's happening - Anything can be accepted on ITV.

there is a line between dark lead = villain and smone who can change. it might be my bias bt i think there r some dealbreaker like character assassination, physical abuse or verbal abuse means even if the guy falls on knees i wont root for the couple. like the TM said CV wanting to make shaurya grey- we all know how that happened. he was jerk to her and the whole library fight. now he is a lovesick romeo. when he will bounce back it will be another excessive. CVs can balance out like how he learns to control temper and be polite and actually see what shit family he is. creating issues for a girl who has already gone through so much...unnecessary i feel

@Blue: But such changes cannot happen overnight na... So far in promos, we had seen him as a complete moron and I had no intention of even watching this show to be honest based on the promo... It's just that I got on it after going through Ragging episode clips on Instagram.

Shaurya so far has been bouncing back... he is back to doing character slamming people in his ego. I will be very honest, even his whole apology sequence was not written to highlight that he was actually sorry... They had very smartly presented the whole context to partly make Anokhi feel guilty about not appreciating Shaurya for saving her life... Hence, I would say that there is a possibility of him going in worse direction even towards Anokhi - IF ITV can handle that... But again the whole process of change can be slow..

True I guess they made many changes as initial ratings came too low.Actually it's low still considering Sitara but still they rushed the story for sake of ratings.

The Nikki described in promo was fierce... The one we see today... That spark has just gone missing...

True, but ITV FL are mahaan so,they will end up showing her accepting him completely but having an different POV. I am still glad atleast they keeps showing glimpses of that Nikki in between, like handling bebo-kitty at time of fest registration....

I have always imagined him to be manipulative towards Anokhi, but I doubt it will happen... I am goad someone else also had that thought process...

Imagined I actually doubt his dark aura was quite well established in initial episodes, now as he is not understanding what is happening with him, hence he is behaving like this..Once he accepts and acknowledges and is determined to keep her close, his BGM and all his brain starts functioning

he will cross his limits.Till now he is shown as a person who does what he feels right.Sahi- galat doesn't affects him.he just wants what he wants.

Here are a few terrible things I imagined...

1. Manipulate Astha to call her mom if she gets Nikki to marry him...

Ohh i never explored this angle.i thought he will even fasao Aasthaa like due to Nikki he won't call her mom but will behave good infront of her.Afterall she is a mother ,she is happy in it and Nikki waise hi fislegi....As he can show atleast some of Aasthaa's qualities. As,Shaan mentions wo waise bhi maa pe gaya hai..So,Aasthaa's qualities are definitely gonna attract Nikki......Plus I think here he will be like sweet poison donon se sweet ban ke he will try to create misunderstandings between Nikki and Aasthaa as no matter how much he will manipulate Aasthaa he will still have an sense of fear as Aasthaa abandoned him and her lefting her own family for career has given Nikki strength,he definitely will want to have distance between this Saas- bahu jodi....

2. Hide the acceptance letters she receives from other prestigious institutions so that she remains close to him.

Ummm I don't feel the need now,as he has already taken promise from Nikki that she will complete all her education from SIAC.And nahi maanti toh emotional blackmail hai hi....So,Nikki in order to balance will stay in SIAC.

3. Just build an illusion of supportive husband by putting all the blames of her trouble on Devilsmiley37 something I desperately want to see... I don't mind yoh going and study... But badi maa doesn't agree... But he is the one who does all the opposite things.

I think he will convince his bade parents for her to study and will put condition of family first.Abb as I work i know 2 on manage aasani se nahi ho pata and he can manipulate badi maa to give her responsibility of eldest Sabarwal bahu.Doesn't he mentions being a Sabarwal bahu is an 24*7 job.

And as she has promised she will be first Sabarwal bahu then an student. To studies ke lie waqt hi na mile and all......

Common if household works starts to bother more work life ke deadlines usually miss ho hi jaati hai

But the most important thing in all of this is that it needs to convey a message as a serial... The perception needs to change (slowly) , his anger needs to be ticked... After all the manipulations, Anokhi should still leave him to introspect how had he really been a good husband or boyfriend, he would have had Nikki with him for good... He would change maybe after leap a bit

Offcourse but it will be an very long process as he is not even child of 18-20 s. The people in 30s already carries an emotional baggage and it's not easy to mend them plus his childhood.Aise log itni aasaani se cure nahi hote. They have there own emotional concerns. Plus Anokhi seems emotional fool so he can way far easily manipulate her emotionally..

The whole idea of letting her go and follow her dreams chahe woh Cambridge ho ya London scool of economics ho... If she is far, love can still be preserved.... And jo tera howega woh laut ayega is the apt music then... But the fact that his insecurities will not let him set Anokhi free to easily... She will Struggle with whole mad house.. But she will manage to fly nevertheless.

Offcourse she is the star afterall!

Par hum bhi toh star hai hai na!!!.. They did played in admission track na.

I just want to see her taking and motivating Gayatri and Kanchan too! Along with Babli and Rama... Every woman should grow... She can set the path and be the leader.

It will but wo end mai dikhayenge waisa. Delhi abhi bohot dur hai..........

Editing -

Also... I have time and again mentioned... We don't need external villian in this show.... Fighting with soch of your dear ones is enough.... Soch is the villian... Choti soch...

Dear ones apni hi choti soch kaafi hai........Apne imperfections etc bohot hai.......First victory is to accept, deal and change it.....

@Red: His impulsiveness, anger and those characteristics might change over next few episodes. But his real soch has not been dealt with (I hope makers don't forget those).

@Blue: See the problem is that success is not equal to SIAC.. Kaunsa bada teer marna hai SIAC mein... They have Shagun get admission in Cambridge toh Anokhi should also have such golden opportunities to test Shaurya na... So, as I mentioned earlier, CVs have been very smart while dealing with Shaurya and his dialgues. He was clear about her completing her education in SIAC - not the whole career part, I doubt he has thought through it. I don't want him to wake one fine morning supporting Nikki against his family... There has to be internal conflicts... Like Old Shagun had pointed out - How will you deal with heart vs. principles.

@Green: If this is the case, I don't want her to be superwoman managing it all! I want Shaurya to part-take in ghar ka kaam too! Bade papa ko convince karne se kuch nai hota hai...

@Orange: He could easily manipulate her, but to be very honest in the beginning part of the show, she was shown to be one strong woman who has her own reason to grow... that too emotional reasons - to prove her father and to win his love... to ensure her mother is proud of her... to pay gratitude to Astha who supported her... With so many reasons, changing plans for that one choti soch wala person would be terrible... That's one of the reason, I am not happy that we don't see Nikki's parivaar anymore! Aaj entry ho ho kar Uske bhai ke t-shirt ki hui and sister was like ignored again... She could atleast be nice to Babli who was genuinely concerned about her sister's izzat.

@Purple: Phislegi, but she will take care of herself. I might be super reluctant post knowing his soch about women in general to marry into Saberwals... Chances are equal Astha responds to Shaurya (if he ever tries to get that nasty to make deal with Astha) by telling him that he cannot live with Anokhi in mad house and Shaurya and Anokhi MUST live with them - Shaan & Astha.

To some extent, I would say even Shaurya's character is pretty much consistent... He has just changed his perception about Anokhi... but he is still that stubborn, angry young man... No matter how many times he tried to explain himself to control his own anger, he cannot! He went back to yelling self in girl's hostel which could be embarassing for Nikki.. glad he realized it by end of the episode today to control his tone... but the way he ordered Nikki that he won't wear the T-Shirt, again yelling at her - was kind of reminded me of Vineet for some reason. But Nikki could take control and sushh him... it was cute...

I know ITV cannot create characters like Sheldon because they don't run in seasons format like them and are running into cut-throat competition format. So, I am going to keep those expectations low for hell long time from ITv if that ever happens 😆

@Bold: CVs are going to do exactly opposite... Anokhi's love will change him and he will forget his childhood issues with his mother...But as long as it's not out of blue.. I am cool...

I'd really love to see character growth for Shaurya. His character has a lot of potential!

Shaurya shouldn't be redeemed into a feminist right away. I want him to exhibit his grey shades...That's why I liked the library scene although I think they should have toned down the nastiness because some of his comments made him totally non-redeemable (IMHO). And then now they have turned him into a puddle of mush.

Would love to see a balance, show real misogynistic traits but not so terrible that we want the FL to hate him.

- Show him in love with Anokhi and torn between his "love for her" and his "soch".

- Show him wanting the best "for Anokhi" but how that might come in the way of what he wants "from Anokhi"..

- Show him standing up for her "against the whole world" but struggling to fight his own demons wanting himself to be "her whole world"...

- Show how love wins over eventually even if they lose each other temporarily...I'd like to see Shaurya leave the country torn by his inner conflicting feelings and then returning to find that they can't live without each other, both not finding love and solace in anyone else! (And PLEASE don't show like Ahir is there for Anokhi supporting her dreams and silently loving her....PLEASE..makers can show Anokhi achieving her dreams on her own...there's no need for a man to support her)

Edit:

I do appreciate what the makers are doing with him being shown as falling in love deeply, madly with her...I think that has to be shown first before they show him hit reality and realise they have different soch. It's just that I don't want the show to become a typical ITV show.
