Each day is stifling and worse than the previous. I always thought that the truth triumphs and everything will be alright is being proved wrong every single day of the past two weeks. I have learnt hard truths on how easy it is to break trust and hurt people by being impulsive, even if it’s for the right reasons.
Virat sir and I, live in the same room, share the same bed. Nothing has changed outwardly, but he hasn’t spoken a word to me since the showdown. It’s not just him, everyone who was on team Sai, were also equally hurt. Each day is like clockwork, she does her chores and listen to the horrible taunts, then she goes to college and back home to study. One thing has changed, her will to fight.
The only solace she gets is when she visits Devi tai. Seeing her happy, it made it easier for her to forget her pain. Kaku and gang are still trying to fight against this marriage, and Virat sir is trying to find proof against Pulkit to put him in jail. Things were stalled as Virat sir was assigned to an urgent case but as per the kitchen conversation, it has resumed again.
She is at her desk studying and as usual it always wanders back to the close moments she shared with her husband. She could see the changing feelings in his eyes and the happy moments they spent together in their happy bubble. Just like that, the bubble burst and now all she can see in his eyes are pain and hurt. She almost left the house but stopped because she was not ready to give up on them yet. She is clinging on to her last thread of hope that when the truth surfaces they can rebuild their relationship from scratch. Being with him and not actually being with him, made her realise how important he is to her and when the truth comes out, it will be more than what he can handle and she doesn’t want him to be alone without her then. She will do anything to not let him crash and burn.
She could sense his presence behind her after a long time. Before he could call her out, she turned to see him standing, his expression was heartbreaking to see. He handed her a document and she opened to find the proof and necessary documents that proved pulkits innocence. It also had photographs of the kidnapping. All the family’s dark secrets were finally out.
She dropped the file at her desk. She looked at her husband looking lost and helpless. Their eyes met, after a long time he held their eye contact. He looked at her apologetically with tears in his eyes, unable to speak. She took him in her arms, and tightened her hold to show him that she is there for him just like he was during her worst moments.
