I would place Hollywood miles above Bollywood and Pakistani industry when it comes to casting and such illegitimate favors but even Hollywood stars aren't safe, so i have no expectations or hope for our industries. But at least when #MeToo began big stars came forward and named the names.

In india and pakistan, if actors/actresses did that, not only their careers wilp be ruined, people will start judging and maligning their characters. For heavens sake, we are those countries where rape victims are blamed for "inviting the attack" imagine what will happen to someone who calls out casting couch.

I don't see casting couch go away anytime soon. Atleast now formal casting agencies are coming up, making it a bit easier. But more than sexual desperation, it is k8nd of a power play. Unless you have a star parent/family or a God Father, you aren't safe. Even when you have god father/star family you are not safe.

Insecurities in this profession is gigantic. Desperation to make it big, make people take poor decisions. Also, when you see 99% people around you engage in suxh activities, your personal moral compass gets reconfigured to believe this is okay, this the new normal.

There is reason this entertainment industry has such poor reputation. Not to mention why a lot of star parents don't want their DAUGHTERS to enter this line of work. Kyunki boys ko toh sab allowed hai.

I also pity the star spouses especially star wives for having to put up with this non-sense and pretend as if everything is normal.

You are right , and dramas should highlight this issue too. In Udaan they touched this topic, and in few other dramas they showed bosses who asked favours from girls to give them jobs.. like in GPM.

See this is from an actress fb page. Her name is Nida Malik , she shared her story and this is what PR told her to do to get a role:

Wow both those stories r horrific. Especially the first one. I do wonder why some actors n actress deny there being a presence of casting couch in interviews n such.

Till now only few actresses gathered their courage to talk about it , they didn't even say the names of those accused.smiley24

I don't understand this desperation, unless those actors are in need of money.. I can't relate to ppl from rich families agreeing to do this just to have a career in acting or modelling. smiley18 In Islam adultary or any kind of intimacy between unmarried couples in strictly forbidden. It is one of the biggest sins. I wonder how can some ppl bear the guilt if they agree to do it.smiley3

That was in the past. I read The Kapoors forbided their family women from working in the industry.. but now actors are begging producers to cast their daughters.smiley36

They even defend their spouses by acting like they are saints.. and that they focus only on their families. smiley24 It is tough to imagine living with an unloyal husband just for the luxury of being married to a rich man.smiley11

If you have watched Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives you will see it is pretty symbiotic relationship. Husband is in it for his family man image and wife is in it for money/access and luxury. Fidelity wasn't a part of the deal, from either ends. Both are free to do whomsoever and whatsoever they want.

Once you get used to a certain lifestyle, it is very difficult to break free. Wives ignore their husband's adventures because divorce will leave them poor, who is gonna finance their fashion, plastic surgeries, foreign trips and of course tge namesake fashion, interior design or jewelry business they run. For husbands, it is easier to keeping spam onsoring his legal wife while he has a lil fun on the side than get divorced and part with his 50% money. Not to mention, the media will start hounding him to see who he dates next.

Aah.. The world of showbiz! All the glitters and no gold. 🙄😋
