I might be in the slight minority here but I feel like (as much as I LOVE them) Vishal-Shekhar have YET to provide SRK with a classic soundtrack.

These are their previous collaborations:

2007 - Om Shanti Om

2011 - Ra.One

2013 - Chennai Express

2014 - Happy New Year

2016 - Fan

Yes, I love so many of the songs in those albums, but as cohesive soundtracks, they left me feeling disappointed somewhat overall. I want more. Give me GOLD standard VSxSRK. Bring on Pathan.

Om shanti om is classic ...each and every song was a gem , rest they were not as good as they were previously ....their best to date is jhankar beats i guess so .....

I wouldn't argue against that. "Main Agar Kahoon" is one of the very best songs of 2007 for me. Sonu Nigam's vocals and that intro are beyond magic.

But I do find "Deewangi Deewangi" to be atrocious. It's such a hideous song. It's only the video that makes it bearable. "All the hot boys put your hands up and say om shanti om" - REALLY??

"Ajab Si" is sweet I suppose, but it doesn't quite hit my spot.

"Dhoom Taana" again has a splendid video and luscious vocal delivery from Shreya Ghoshal but it's not something I would listen to.

"Dard-E-Disco" is an incredible track. I love what it does, technically, musically, it's innovation. But it's again not something I will put on my playlist. And it kind've gives me a headache.

"Jag Soona Soona" is very good, love anything Rahat did during that time, but if I was in that mood, I would much rather play the superior "Jaoon Kahaan" from Billu Barber which is similar but superior.

As I said, I know OSO is considered gold standard generally, but me personally it slightly misses the mark overall so I'm hoping for something spectacular with Pathan. If we get something along the lines of "Nashe Si Chadh Gayi" meets "Ghungroo" then that should seal the deal :) ❤️
