she kept sherlock in the dark about her identity for quite some time, infact, for about 8 months. Sherlock genuinely respected her and loved her. She was forgiving and kind even on her death bed.

She understood that she was always second in John's life, first being Sherlock, and never fought that notion, because she knew it was always that way, she could never change it, and loved the man irrespective of that!

And lets not forget, she kicks butt when she wants to and can change her identity like a pro😎
