Bon and Forgiveness: Is her character really butchered?

Over the last week, we all were extremely sad to see the butchering of characters by the makers of BB. For Ani, there were always multiple posts analysing his behaviour and his reasons, but Bon and her Nibbiness, as well as her instant forgiveness for Ani, was considered OOC. But was it really?

I say no, Bon has always been quick to forgive her 'apne' when she has been the one hurt. She forgave Mami for selling her to HM, and convinced Ani and Sumati to do so as well. She even forgave Sampoo for all the misery and emotional torture sampoo put her through during the periods fiasco, again convincing Ani and Kaka to forgive her for all her other Manipulations. She only refused to forgive Sampoo when her role in Sumati's state was revealed. The only time when she refused to forgive and forget a wrong done to her was during the molestation case. And all these above cases were people who were working with malicious intentions, however, she kept forgiving until her Ma or her Pati Babu were hurt.

So with this track history, is it OOC for Bon to forgive the man she believes to be her sansaar? She has forgiven him before but yes it is the first time whatever has happened has been almost completely Ani's mistake, and she is well aware that it wasn't a planned attack or malicious intentions. So why wouldn't she forgive Ani, especially when he did apologize. Ani has never deliberately hurt her before, is it OOC if she believes he would never hurt her deliberately?

So she forgave Ani, and still believes that like in the past, she can convince him into her way of thinking if she tries hard enough. And that is classic Bon behaviour IMO.

I would love to know your opinion.

Okay...so I have read it now finally, and as always, your points are valid and they all are logical. I agree with them all.

And I am also of the opinion that Bon's nibbiness is also understandable and I dont mind it.

But it is rubbing Aniruddh in a very painful way. Its like, Aniruddh is full of fresh wounds and unknowingly, Bon is sprinkling and rubbing salt on them...and that too, loads and loads of it.

As women of 2021, we wanted Bon to fight back and show savagery and all, but if we go back in time, werent our great grand moms such submissive types too? Pati parmeshver hai... Yehi sikhatay thay na woh loag?

Tou uss hisab se dekha jaye tou Bon ka behavior, uski quick forgiveness wagera sab justified hai.

And like you so nicely put, Uska apna nature bhi aisa hi hai. Woh naraz ya rooth ker nahi reh sakty, and shes quick to forgive people closest to her, like her pati.

So, nothing is wrong with her behavior, honestly.

By the way, I noticed in monday's epi ke jab ani saray cards phaad phaad kr udda raha tha, Bon ko uske saray bitter words from the party and uske baad ke bhi related to their marriage yaad aarhe thay.

It means that she deliberately pushed all the negativity in the back of her mind to focus on trying to build her relationship with him again. But those torturous sentences are there sitting somewhere, and they will resurface one day for sure. Perhaps when Ani marries AE.

I know Bon is very forgiving , she forgave mami, sampoorna , but doesn't we say that the person who is closest to us have the ability to hurt us the most, mami is very little important to Bon, Sampoo comparatively more (after hm track her attachment to Sampoo decreased too), they hurt her but as they are not that important it didn't hurt her as much Ani 's word must have. Still it didn't take her even a day to forgive him. That's why I feel her character to be butchered.

Bon was very possessive of Ani , even when she heard about ani - mini engagement she was hurt and this time when Ani told her that she is nothing more than zimmedari and also how she is a burden to him etc she was not repulsive , infact her behaviour is exactly opposite to what were expecting ,or may be we were as viewers expecting too much .

If she would have forgiven him after asking if he really meant what he said earlier when he was angry and if Ani would have denied saying she is not gale ka faans , then her forgiving him would have been somewhat acceptable specially as she consider his happiness before everything .

Bon has a strong character and a very logical mind of her own, which kept on asking questions which she feels nonsense. But at the same time she is a child too, easily susceptible to others manipulation. Most of the time Ani forgets that she is a child and can be easily influenced if one can convince her. He puts her on a pedestal and always expects her to take the perfect decision and when she doesn't he becomes furious. He is judging her from an adults point of view and it takes time for him to understand the situation from her point of view. Kaka is smarter than Ani here. He clearly understood Bon's naivity and openly he is exploiting it.

Bon comes to a judgment or decision based on her personal experience. She lives in a society filled with patriarchal norms, many of the things are considered as part of common sensical knowledge because of the naturalization of these beliefs.

This is not the first time Bon took the wrong path first. In Kushal grihani vs education track also she did the same thing. Kaka was able to convince her the importance of being a kushal grihani showing the keys. Bon easily related it to her experience ,she told yes her mother also used to carry keys till her father's death. She happily agreed to choose to become someone like her mother, whom she considered as an idol. The educated woman advocated by Ani was a total stranger to Bon. She has never saw someone like that in her life . So naturally she was having difficulty in understanding its importance. She needed a big crisis to understand the importance of education. When she was unable to write a letter to Ani in HM, she had the first hand experience of the negative side of being illiterate and realized the value of education. Till then she was studying for Ani,after that she had started to study for herself.

Present situation is also something similar. Like earlier Kaka was able to manipulate. Again she is judging the situation based on her experience. From her point of view child marriage is not wrong. It is an accepted thing in society. Many people she knows are child brides, like Bela, the girls she met in village etc. Even her mother doesn't consider it as wrong (then she wouldn't have allowed her marriage to fix. She only had problem with the groom, not with the marriage). She cannot understand Ani's point of view and why child marriage is wrong. Though she met many child brides, none of them told her the ill effects of child marriage. Personally she doesn't have any problem till now. Her life is happy and comfortable. So naturally for her it is difficult to understand ,why exactly child marriages are wrong. Now she is having her teenage crush over her husband, again a socially acceptable thing. Everyone she knows considers it as right, convincing her to believe what she is doing is the right thing to do. Like education track she needs a strong incident to change her views.

Though she heard about Mini being Ani's fiance, she is not disturbed by it because according to her Mini is a bad person who doesn't deserve the good Ani. I think this is the reason why she is not affected by it. Before knowing Mini as Buri didi she was ready to return what she took from Mini. Till now being a Barrister is Ani's dream, not hers. She is doing it just for him. I don't know what will happen to Bon to realize the importance of being independent. I think Ani might say yes to marry AE or she will somehow came to know about Ani's so called ek nazar mein huye zindagi bhar ka prem for AE(if he marries anyone other than Bon that will be the end of BB for me) 🤢😡. Then she will think she came in between Ani and his happiness. Then she might get the clear picture of her marriage from her mother, how Ani saved her. She will feel indebted to him and also will feel guilty of being the reason for him not getting his love. After that she will genuinely concentrate on becoming barrister both as to show her gratitude to Ani and also to become an independent woman so that she can relieve Ani from her zimmedaari.

She will easily forgive him but will not forget easily. She has immense self respect. In HM track also she never accused him. She was always taking his side in front of everyone and was considering herself as guilty. Still when Ani came to take her she was feeling reluctant to go to him. Remember his public apology and her listening inside the room. She was taking steps backwards remembering all the incidents. Ani had to take a fatal stab to convince her. Only after the stabbing she was willing to go with him. So I think in future Bon will always hide her love from him and Ani will have really a hard time convincing her about his love (iss gadha totally deserves it😈)

P.S. sorry it became too long. 🙈

She won't forgive him for AE for sure, or she will forgive but be guarded. That would be a brilliant track to watch.

Yes it would be wonderful to watch her treating him formally and calling barrister babu and him yearning for the old Bon and her usual patibabu

My cruel sadistic mind want to see it badly 😈🤣
