Hello,
This is my first post in the forum and I've been reading the chat for a while but was trying to manage my own expectations regarding Qubool Hai 2.0 - I absolutely love the original and would call myself KSG fan - I feel like i have spent lockdown with Asad and Armaan. Today I decided that I need a bit of a break from watching QH2.0 - it started streaming in the UK on Thursday evening and well that's literally all i have done since.. For all the shortcomings in the story so far, Karan and Surbhi make it extremely watchable (even on repeat) and I think the way the creatives have looped back to QH1 in many subtle ways is really clever and most importantly i think the premise of the Asya story so far has real potential to live up to the expectations i have but I just to need to write some things to clear my head...
Absolutely. So many references. Not just the first meeting which Toh was a tribute to us I guess. For loving that scene so much. The way she thinks he's an arm's dealer. To think that she thought he was a secret agent last time. 😂😂😂😂 The bathroom fall was like the balcony fall last time. And. And. The gazebo scene reminded me of the black saree scene in my DP. There Tanveer comes. But here they actually kiss and don't tell. So it's fine. 😍
Oh. And. And. The scene before that when he's telling her he's okay with the marriage. Remember the scene when Asad is trying to tell her about his feelings at the dining table? He picks all the cutlery up and all. It sort of reminded me of that scene. And the OH so favourite music box. 🤧
I really hope that Zoya is not a secret agent, firstly because the show has been billed as an eternal love story not a spy thriller and secondly the creatives are clearly not capable of writing credible plot points for a genuine thriller (the ambush at the General house was shockingly bad as were other sub plots as already discussed in this thread). And what was the point of showing the last scene of season 1 in the trailer??
I agree. Even I don't want her to be a secret agent. But like I am in split mind. 😂 They are so not capable! At the risk of getting chappals from Ankie who's tried justifying all the loopholes I pointed out, 😂 I'd rather deal with family drama than a bad thriller.
Asya fans will forgive the loop holes in the story if the love story and Asya emotions are credible, the show needs Asya fans onside for it to be a hit this season and subsequent seasons too. In QH1 the plot for the Zoyaan wedding ceremony is completely implausible but the Asya scenes following that are some of my favourite because you could so relate to that pain of that separation.
Agreed. Which is what I actually did. And I agree with the ZoYaan shit too. Then I didn't like it. But now I watch all the sad scenes. Coz I know it's a happy ending. 😂😂😂
What Asad is doing is morally so wrong and makes a mockery of his 'hindustani dhoka nahi dete' dialog. I actually don't want Zoya to go with Asad because I dont trust Damini (She was prepared to let Asad die!), but I know Zoya will go to India because the story needs her to and so she believes in her gut instinct and that has already told her that Asad is the one and she genuinely believes she can trust him. I never felt anger at Asad in S1 when he slapped Zoya, because that was a reflex action at the height of his nightmare scenario- this is Asad actively deceiving an innocent young girl and taking her into a country that will regard her as an enemy and therefore putting her in a potentially serious dangerous situation. I don't believe love for your counrty is a license to lose your moral compass....That is not patriotism and Zoya herself is not a danger to India.
As much as I am an Asad lover, and I still love Asad. I WANTED someone to bring this up, and feel this way coz otherwise everything in this Forum would be from one side only. Like one perspective. This is absolutely true. I agree with it. But I am still willing to give him the benefit of doubt because as I pointed out before, there are chances he does like her. Also, unfortunately, I am biased. I can't hate Asad. I never hated him then. The slap too. This isn't justifiable. I hope the makers don't make us hate Asad. The thing about romances is, at least in books, writers ensure that the hero is likeable. In some way. Even though he's arrogant and snobbish etc. And the heroines are relatable. Because the readers are mostly women. Same goes for shows. Since the audience is mostly of women, I hope they find a way to justify this betrayal. In the guise of patriotism which they won't be able to justify AT ALL considering the job they did this time (I didn't even get the patriotic urgency. Was there an attack? There was supposed to be a FUTURE attack. And India always has a No FIRST attack Policy. Anyways this is besides the point).
Otherwise they can't salvage Asad. But I think they will. They'll just make Mandira the baddie so we don't hate Asad. And I anyway don't like her much. 😂😂😂
Mandira bedi scenes are my least favourite in the whole show - the execution is just tacky and she comes across as third some rate bond villain rather than someone i would trust with national security - her acting has no depth (maybe i am comparing her too much to Judi dench in James Bond and well she was just class as M) and i wish they had left Damini scenes out until the truth was revealed, would have been more impactful too. I think she has the potential to annoy me as much as Tanveer in S1.
I think her classiness was misplaced in the show. Some review said, her scenes looked like sci fi scenes. 😂😂😂 And they became funny at some point. And her two assistants who came in like robots every morning. Remember one of them was Farhan from S1? Please don't even bring James Bond here. 😂😂😂 MAP production house can't handle it. They just can't.
But bro usko Tanveer ke level pe Toh mat girao. I think Asma could be the next Tanveer. I HATE her so much. Maybe coz I can't handle Asad with anyone other than Zoya.
But you know what, they organically dealt with the exes topic. Zoya was so mature about it. I was proud of her.
So far in the mission that Asad has been recruited for he has not once needed to use his shooting skills - so why him for this mission? And even from the plan narrated by Damini i dont think there was a need to use a rifle - it was supposed to be covert mission to get the codes( to India without Pakstan knowing that he has. I guess Asad being a high profile Indian celebrity gives him some cover, but my guess is that Damini is using him for something else...and Asad is planning to hand Zoya over to her???
This is what they'll do. To save Asad from the hate. Zoya will hate him. But WE won't. Yeah exactly. What the hell did he shoot man. And there's a difference between shooting a target and shooting a person. It emotionally ruptures your mind unless and until your brain is numb to that moral conscience of taking someone's life.
I'm really glad that Zoya has fallen and accepted her feelings for Asad first this time , she just knows how he makes her feel no other guy has ever come close to that but as yet i think she's still in the romance mode and not really understanding the depth she will need for this relationship to work in the real world. Zoya's expression when her living father actually tells her that he wants her to marry Haider and she's looking for ways out of agreeing to that, and Asad just tells her that her dads dying wish was for her to marry Asad and she's looking for ways to make that happen contrary to what logic tells her. For Zoya Asad is a leap of faith and i think that was conveyed in the way she kissed him when she accepted his proposal. Poor girl is going to so broken when she finds out....the fact that by the time she finds out Asad will probably be truly in love with her wont really help him redeem himself
I told the same thing!!! The way she kissed him shows that. The leap of faith. And her impulsiveness. She's not openly accepted I guess. That's always Zoya no. She wants to know what the other person thinks first. And Asad gave her that. She's still in the fairytale zone.
I agree with the last line. By the time she finds out he'd be in love with her but it'll be too late. That'll be like the Jaipur sequence no one liked. 😂
As an Asad/KSG fan I wanted to see a glimpse at least of his world famous Gussa - if the whole Rashid story is going to be in the show, then just 1 mention of Rashid by his Ammi on the phone and Karan is capable of showing that flick of the latent simmering anger in seconds, I really hope they make full use of Karan's talents in season 2. I really really really want Asad to make me cry for him in season 2.
Yeah!! He got a little miffed when the Haider marriage thing came up. And when he crushed the spoon! But yeah, not like before. This season was Zoya's family drama. Glad the Dad died now itself. I really couldn't have handled the Dad drama anymore. Next season will be Khan drama. 😂😂😂😂 And Asad has to cry next season man.. what shit.
Finally I am hoping that Gul will be involved in Qh2.S2 for at least the romantic scenes - i thought some of the shot angles and editing could have been majorly improved in QH2.S1 and in QH2.S2 the real romance should start and it needs to live up to the hype of an eternal love story - for that you need some magical moments a long the way and she knows how to create them. Karan keeps mentioning how much he misses Gul in his interviews so who knows whats planned for QH2.S2
I am not sure. Coz I was personally happy with the romance and all. They were different, funny and nice. And romantic also was pretty similar. The scene with Gul is, I like her shows but at some point, she comes up with like jackass twists and I am like dafuq are you showing lady 😂😂😂 So in a way I am glad it's not her. But maybe you feel that way coz romance wasn't enough. Others feel it too. So S2 could fix that as welln
