That's true actually. Between episode 4 and 5, things became too serious. I too wish they'd slowed it down a bit..
But if you notice, neither has told the other they love them or anything. It's totally implied but still.
Also, idk if Asad meant it or he was acting or whatever. I analysed Zoya's reaction to him so that sort of reduced my dissatisfaction. Maybe you'll get a new perspective:
1. Zoya has grown up as a rich, pampered girl who loves her family. She's a little spoilt but in a good way - not the arrogant kind but the kind that gets a lot of things she wants so wants to strive for it.
2. So she feels entitled to a lot of help that Asad does to her. She is grateful but also expects it.
3. And, her profession here is TOTALLY apt for the character. She's a romance writer who believes in it. Which is why she feels annoyed by Goldie's funny proposal. And she totally wants someone romantic and intense for herself. The fact that she took inspiration from Asad for her next story (that Najma read) shows she takes her craft seriously. And she goes and does the lock shit for the true love thing.
4. And she believes in this sort of romance - like so completely her sense of reasoning is a little put off by it. The Phuphi was being unreasonable about colour. Definitely. But she was practical that you can't trust everybody. And she totally, absolutely trusted Asad coz he'd saved her life like a hero.
5. Ideally, anyone would totally have lots of gratitude. But along with gratitude, she starts feeling a sense of belongingness with AAK and she associates all his strength and willingness to help her as the tall, dark, hero who saves a damsel in distress (type-ish not fully). She's sort of living her writing fancies with him and that makes the whole whirlwind romance more adventurous.
6. I think her idea of romance sort of makes reality fuzzy for her. At some level, the reality of Asad saving her (which is great but at the end of the day, it helps. You can't marry someone out of gratitude), sort of gets blurred with the romantic notion she's got of strong, powerful men saving the heroines and winning their hearts. So I think at the moment, she's more in love with the IDEA of her romance with Asad than Asad himself.
7. And, she's SO floored by his romantic proposal, this is also sort of an indication of her inner romantic. See, I might call it foolishness but she's an out and out romance writer. So it's justified for her to feel that way. Plus she's probably been sheltered from harsher life truths about betrayal and selfishness etc. Didn't she kind of give you Geet vibes in the flight when she's drunk? XD
8. Also, she fights with her Phuphi for Asad coz she's taken in by him and she can't stand and listen to reason. See, the Phuphi also didn't properly convey her message. She brought in the nationality and distracted the conversation. The right thing would have been to ask Zoya to wait before deciding. And the rebel Zoya is, she couldn't stand the rejection of her the decision she HADN'T even taken (I totally get this. Even if I don't plan to do something but the other person totally rejects it even before I have decided, I'd go ahead and do it anyway), I think her decision got accelerated. So she immediately rushes to him and says yes. You can see it in how she kisses him too ☺️ (I probably watched it too many times to notice this but yeah). She takes over then coz she's cementing her spur of the moment decision motivated by her attraction to him and the belief in her idea of their romance. It's the decision of a pampered, romantic girl who believes romance is good and pure etc.
Idk if you got anything, but I loved how they have portrayed her character and over analysed it here. XD
This changes everything with S2 & S3 and what i thought it might me. What an analysis. 👏 Because it makes it very clear, that Zoya just can't be an agent, it's impossible for her to be... anymore. And my chance if she is, then she will be THE VILLAIN of the show, to pull off all that. Which again would be interesting to watch but but but I don't think it will go that way. As she is the FL.
Unfortunately for me, it is now like, I wanted cheese burst pizza nd I got normal pizza with Zoya's character now as I wanted her to have a bit more to do than her character before. Rather than just "being used" by all the men in her life, from dad brother to now Asad all for what -- Apne Apne Mulk Ke Liye. :- OH THIS ABSOLUTELY MAKES SENSE!
Let's see what they end up with. But this is a good thing. I can now totally place all my cents in betting Asad has zero feels for her maybe feels guilty and a bit attracted? But all to get her unconditional blind unwavering trust. Or else who would give him access to everything that he is assigned for
Damini saying she is smart you will not make the first approach. She has to come to you --- that's what he has done.
That just made me like Asad a bit more 🤣 anyway 🤣 I am feeling extremely sorry for Zoya 🥺 but that is her test of love to achieve eternal devotion & passion and ultimately love.
Yes she was just like geet. Uff more irritating than her. 🤣 But that's her character and that makes all the difference. 😝
hmm so possibly the fact is, Zoya realises she was not in love but with the idea of love. And it hits her that everything was played to her. This will or may give/land her up in a situation she wouldn't like to be no one else would (maybe just maybe a life and death situation as Mandira or her brother may become extremely shady) but Asad then realises oh shit no and rest as follows.
Lot of scope for season 3 and another one if they want to 😂
Plane scene gave me Geet vibes totally 🤣
