I am not sure how to feel.

On one hand, I can see it easily sliding into worse and worse censorship.

On the other, Netflix has been grossly irresponsible in sexualizing young children. When minors are involved, governments do step in to prevent harm.

That show is really really sexual!! I can't believe this is the new "desi" content.

Censorship to some extent is necessary and present in pretty much every country...

And from what I know about this series they were kind of asking for a ban showing 12-13 year olds heavy drinking, consuming drugs and having sex as if it's the norm...

There is even a scene where two girls who look like pre-teens are stating that society is regressive or something to that effect for saying they are too young for sex 🤓

It's not only very unrealistic (even for the west, let alone India) but but also appears to be promoting and justifying pedophilia, just like the infamous (and disgustingly named 🤢) Cuties 😡

Censorship should not be there where consenting adults are concerned.

But everyone else needs protection... those who cannot consent, did not consent, children, (gross to have to add this) animals.

I mean, how is Netflix not able to distinguish between gritty adult content and child pron?

Yes that’s exactly what I meant in the context of this show, as well as Cuties.

But even with consenting adults there are limits.

Would it be ok to show an adult man and woman butt naked having sex in a movie and then release it in all theatres with a U certificate??

Obviously not, it would be banned from being shown in theatres, and restricted to 18+ websites.

That is also an example of censorship, and I don’t see how anyone can argue against that.

Any sentient adult would still be able to watch it. So it wouldn't be censorship. Simply rating to tell people what to expect.

I won't argue against rating, but banning content involving consenting adults should not be done.

Unsubscribed Netflix since Cuties. N despite a huge number of people unsubscribing, they haven't learnt anything, I see.
