Though K Drama episodic is quite different from Indian. They do maintain their core story together without losing it no matter how the plot goes. The core is intact and over here we just change the core also as per our wish.
Its mostly because those dramas are 16-20 episodes limited and the shoot is over before it is aired which means they don't have any trp pressure and influence on the story due to it

Not all the shoots are over before aired. K Drama works very differently. They train for those character for some 5-6 months and join the cast and they shoot for some episodes. For them also TRP matters. They're such shows which got ended by 12 episodes due to low TRP

Yeah i know the trps matter there too but the fact that the main story is not influenced by it no matter is what makes those drama good

I think the only character who did somethings unexpected was Chacha. Suddenly become so positive. Others characters somehow still maintained their characterizations more or less.
