My point was about problematic behavior was about him forcing the women he did date to eat what he wanted them to eat. ie, vegetarian only.

Did she get in trouble every time she ate meat? Can a woman not do things like that anymore without being labelled a doormat or without the guy being called an asshole? What is there to "absolve" him?

By the way, these theories only work from a heteronormative perspective. I don't know what people would have to say about gay couples who make sacrifices for each other... within reason, of course.

It's wrong of him to try to get meat eaters to turn into vegetarians for him if that's what he was doing... but that's a BIG IF. This gossip is really difficult to believe. His relationship with Kareena was well known but I don't think he was in a super serious relationship with PC .. and they never made it official in public either. Anyways, can you imagine anyone turning Priyanka into a vegetarian without her will? People like Kareena who had the audacity to start dating Saif against all the backlash (from media AND family) and go on to marry him and especially Priyanka who is the captain of her own ship. Something doesn't add up there.

There's nothing farfetched here, Shahid has clearly stated he cannot date someone who also has other passions in their life. This thing about how "he wants to date a woman from a different field" is rubbish, because his problem with actresses is not their profession in itself, as he clearly states, but the time that it takes from them. So essentially he wants a woman who is not too passionate about their job and would be able to devote more time to him and his life.

I would definitely have given him a benefit of doubt, if, say he actually married a doctor, or an accountant, or a designer, or so on an so forth, but he went on to marry a very young woman and turned her into a homemaker. Why was she sitting at home and not pursuing any career (even before she had kids)?

Knowing how controlling Shahid has been of his previous girlfriends, who thankfully were strong enough to kick him out of their lives and lead independent lives, I wouldn't be shocked if he tried to control this aspect of Mira's life and played a part in domesticating her.

I am not saying this is a fact, as I could be wrong. But knowing how Shahid is/was and looking at the present situation, it isn't too farfetched to conclude this as a possible hypothesis.

And maybe I'm taking this personally because I agree with Shahid 100%. I know how fkd up my profession is so I really want to marry someone who does something different. He even said its completely fair that an actress can't devote her 100% time to a relationship and that's completely RIGHT given their usual career span. He said absolutely nothing sexist. How hard is to understand 'DIFFERENT PROFESSION'?!?! He was anything but misogynistic.

This is literally why people have begun to bash feminism for NO REASON. Some people use feminism just to trash others.

Also on another note, there's more to being a mother than just washing clothes and doing dishes. Mira seems to spend alot of time and effort on her kids which is EQUALLY important. Shaming her for HER own choice is so uncalled for.
