A galaxy of stars -- Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Mallika Sherawat, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukerji, John Abraham, Priyanka Chopra, Saif Ali Khan, Fardeen Khan, Sunny Deol, Sanjay Dutt -- and many others performed at the show.
The response to the telethon was impressive. The highest bid for tea with Ash was Rs 15 lakh, the highest bid for a gym session with Sanju was Rs 10 lakh and the highest bid for a bike ride with John was Rs 1 lakh.
The bid for Karan Johar, who has become a household name after blockbusters like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and the popular television serial Koffee with Karan, stands at about Rs 20 lakh, for a day on the sets with him.
SRK has the highest bid recorded so far, going up to as much as Rs 10 crores for a day on the sets with him.
Besides appealing to viewers to donate, the actors also spoke about their films. Only Salman refrained from doing so. When asked about his new film, Lucky, he replied that films like Lucky would come and go, but events like promoting donations for tsunami victims were much too important to be missed. [b/]
