Veer returns the money to Ranisa, who asks who took it. Veer tells her it was Nandini not Rani

Was the slapping sequence in the same clothes? If so this might be true. If it’s true, the main purpose of this sequence was to show Veer’s trust and support, and to sow a seed of dislike in Nandini’s mind against Rani. Nandini might become slightly grey.

I agree with you. It's to show Veer's trust and support plus Nandini will turn slightly grey now.

I think this is why their rift will be short lived. They both will be understanding and trusting eachother before the rift . Then when the rift come ,they might try to understand eachother's point of view. And will stand by together
