Swades was made with a lot of heart. There's depth and there's a lot of retrospection that both the audience as well as the characters in the film go through. It stays with you for a long time and that's the signature of a classic film.

This, Swades was inspired from real life incident and you can easily connect to it. It's more realistic to connect to. ♥♥

Lagaan stays with you for the longest time, brilliant story, brilliant acting, brilliant music and super repeat value-its everything a classic is supposed to be.

Aamir likes to do this perfect guy with no faults in his movies. Gets on your nerves after a while.

Swades was infinitely more relatable.

You have not seen those films?

All the actors in hindi films have played perfect guys at some point.

Some I have. I was choosing not to argue the point, but I do find the presentation of Amir's characters in say, Dangal, as perfect (might not be the right word). There is little nuance like say a father living vicariously through children and not really respecting their wishes. Not talking of the real person here since I don't know his story. The movie character was portrayed as nearly a saint for giving his daughters a chance. Well... there were other ways to give them a chance, too, ways which didn't involve forcing them into something they didn't want. Once again, not judging what happens in real life. Only the movie.
