Stepping forward into a new phase

Well, today's episode felt like it was all about high drama and finally a transition into a new phase for the three main characters.

My thoughts are a bit all over the place cuz there was just so much back and forth rather than a centralized focus.....but a few themes jumped out to me:

a) Imlie was literally being treated like a pawn between Adi and Malini during the fiasco over the gold chain. Malini's stern bossiness was on extra display today.....I honestly don't get why Adi-Malini need to publicly do a tug of war over Imlie any chance they get....today it was about the gold chain...Adi wanted Imlie to return it out of self-respect while Malini demanded she keep it out of respect for her grandma....it all just looked so bizarre that they were all speaking FOR Imlie rather than letting her have her voice. She's not a toy, for god's sake.

b) Imlie finds contentment in her circumstances but when she subconsciously tries to think of a birthday wish, it is Adi that pops into her mind.

c) The official grahpravesh/entry of Imlie into Adi's room. Putting aside how it came to be (I personally thought Adi's "realization" was kind of out of the blue....he hasn't shown any other build up sign of realizing how he's slighted Imlie for so long), but Adi took Imlie to his room while leaving Malini behind in a sense. So the writers clearly went for some form of symbolism there....accompanied by Daadi's voiceover about a husband-wife stepping forward together to move forward together in their life.

The way Adi-Imlie entered the room simultaneously stepping forward and Malini getting ominous flashes of her own grahpravesh/Daadi's talks makes it seem like the story is shifting into a new phase. Adi has asked Imlie for a chance to make amends, he's lifted the room entry ban as an overture and Malini was left behind watching the two of them as they stepped forward together.

How this ties into Malini's upcoming disappearance remains to be seen....but the last scene ended on an insecure Malini for now who looked disturbed seeing Adi-Imlie entering the room together. Dunno if that will be followed up on in tomorrow's epi or it will get diverted by Adi's usual PDA with Malini.....lol

Glad someone else also felt the episode was all over the place.

Aditya was disinterested. This is the most unemotional I have seen him in a while and they make this guy cry so much that there are a thousand previous examples to compare to. He fell short today. That voluntary sorry felt out of place.

And most of all, that AC scene felt off. Like they shot it separately and stitched it together. That lady playing AC - only her back was shown in wide angle shots and that looked weird; like it was not her but a body double.

I hope this was not the quota of good episodes this week. If so, cannot imagine how they will maintain continuity rest of the week.

since I could not delete, decided to post a point I missed below.

The photo that Aditya gifted to Imlie at the hospital made its magical appearance today. It would have been nice to see Imlie appreciate the gift from Aditya. He who did not gift anything to Imlie on her birthday, had already given her a precious gift, a pic of Mithi with her daughter Imlie. The way Imlie was touching her amma's face n sobbing was sight to watch. This was observed by AdiMoon as well.

When Imlie said she felt anger and had enough of daants that she bore silently without crying or shedding a tear, was a direct jab to Aditya. He has given more intense scenes and maybe it was under the watchful eye of his biwi, he was holding himself back. If that is so, then job well done. Despite that, he exhibited his emotions when she said 'Am I just dirt'.. that was well done.

Malini watching from the outside, the insecurity, anger at her mom, unable to face Imlie, to following Aditya on his way to their room, her smile turning into doubt, seeds of suspicion sown was well done.

Waise what happened to all the T's , they just left Imlie to cry by herself... so that AdiMoon could see and set the stage for the GH. 😃

It was a khidkitod episode in Anika's word.

The public revelation of Imli's past and her lack of a father in her life, her amma, whose life revolves around her child, her nakli naani, all revealed the depth of this girl, who has swept into the T's household and become one of their own.

She is a favorite of badke kaka and Aparna for sure, who treat her with extra warmth. The sheer happiness on Imlie's face when her birthday was celebrated joyously for the first time, since she could remember, will be etched in her mind.

Loved how she fed laddoo to everyone and Aditya was left stunned at the revelations and seeing her joy, at the suprise party. He did wish her and was staring intently at his Imlie thro'out.. It has been a day of revelations to him about Imlie, how gifted and brilliant she is, along with her good nature and spirit.

Ofc, the happiness could not last too long, Anu had to come to douse the happiness and light a fire, which she did today, in full swing. She declared famously - What belongs to the girl, remains her and what is her daughter's will remain hers.

So Imlie got married to Aditya first and he will be hers. Dev was Malini's father and he will remain hers only. She also compared Imlie to the dust on one's feet... making her feel small and insignificant. Aditya was feeling the rage and Imli's pain here, but held his silence, instead directing Imlie to return the gold chain to Mrs.C. He cannot bear her tears now.

Malini was in full professor mode, taking her mother's class and using Imlie as a pawn, directing her to keep the chain. Poor Imlie, who neither asked for the chain or the drama that unfolded, on her b'day, making it bittersweet.

Imlie finally hugging the pic of her and Mithi, sobbing uncontrollably, missing her amma very much. Malini and Aditya watching her sob and Malini unable to face Imlie, asking Adi to speak to Imlie. A golden offer and Adi babu jumped to it.

This convo in the presence of Malini, was so beautiful, soul stirring as always between the 2. Plain speaking and acknowledging the emotions roiling inside them. The reaction that the words caused in Aditya when Imlie uttered - Am I really like the dirt on the street, wrenched and tugged at his heart strings, wrought a change in him, that was gradually shifting inside him all day long... this was the nudge that pushed him over the cliff.

He asked her to stand up and placing his hands gently on her shoulders, asking Imlie to close her eyes. Imlie just closed her eyes and placed her trust in her Babusaheb..... let him lead her.. a big hint by the writers.. the trust implicit in her BS. It was beautiful to see the walk to his room and the care he exhibited while guiding Imlie through the halls of the house.

The stepping of the couple into his room, was magical and Aditya watching Imli's reactions keenly, seeing her joy was a sight to behold... All the while, Malini left outside, watching them entering the room, in sync in their steps, her grandmother's words echoing in her ears, her own grihapravesh came to mind. Her mind and heart at war, the start of the change.. winds are blowing..

Today was an excellent episode.. probably worth 2 good episodes of the weekly quota. Remains to be seen what comes next... 😃

Waise worth thinking about the entire last scene from Malini's perspective for a bit😆

She wanted to go and apologize to Imlie on her mom's behalf but couldn't gather the guts so she sent Adi instead. 😆.....Adi, while in the process of trying to cheer up Imlie, hears Imlie talking about how much daant she has had to bear from so many people so he seems to have had a EUREKA moment that he is also one of those people😆....so he apologizes to her for his mistakes.

Then Adi being Adi, decides to do something in an impulse in the moment....he decides that he will finally lift the room entry ban as a part of making amends towards Imlie😆 and decides to "surprise" Imlie with this....so without a word, he asks her to close her eyes, holds her shoulders and guides her towards his room.....Malini is just left watching in surprise that where is all this coming from😆....she tries to ask Adi silently but he kind of just nods at her as he leads Imlie past her😆

Then the entire long walk down the corridors has Malini watching Adi-Imlie with mixed feelings - confusion, dread, suspicion....lol....when they finally reach the doorway to Adi's room, Malini smiles for a bit feeling happy that Adi is making amends....then her face falls again when Adi-Imlie step into the room together in sync😆 and there is a sense like she feels left behind watching them from the outside as they step in happily into the room together.

Malini went through quite a journey in that one scene.....lol....her one decision to ask Adi to go talk to Imlie led to all of this🤣. Adi would never have thought of it on his own if not for an impulse in that moment.

I get that they were playing "Piya tose milne" on this bit but honestly, Imlie looked more like a bored kid than someone getting "feelz" out of Adi taking her somewhere😆.....the song might have been a mismatch for this situation😆

I think mayuri had quite a range in that scene. We are all so blown away by sumeer that we are pleasantly surprised by such scenes from other actors. She did the scene really well from guilt to creeping but barely noticeable doubts to insecurity to full blown insecurity to fear. The episode is the start of the 3 episode good quota for this week😆. Saturday ko shayad malini ka accident ka diraama shuru.

I think all the symbolism of all the scenes was to reassure the viewers that Adilie will be end game. But there is still a LOT to happen before that. Now I am sure Malini’s accident will make Adi go into guilt mode big time. So get ready for more forced PDA 😂.

You know this is almost similar to the Valentine gift. Both times he acted impulsively not thinking of consequences. At that time Malini was in the unknown and this time Imlie is in the unknown. At that time, he was so sure that Imlie was wrong and Malini would have understood.

This time Imlie might witness again the impact of his decision and let see if Aditya finally understands that Imlie was correct. Malini is not someone who keeps shut about her insecurity especially where Aditya is concerned. She might definitely voice it and then the accident and the guilt trip party.

LOL I will say that on a first watch, Adi was definitely pretty underwhelming to me as well....the apology felt token today for something that was supposed to be a "big shift" from his side to make amends. But on a second watch, the scene felt better. These days it really does feel like each epi has to be watched twice to start to find some connect....lol the first watch is either underwhelming or filled with irritants😆.

Re: AC....haha I can't believe I'm saying this but man that birthday party was starting to BORE me with all the SAP until she showed up🤣....atleast kuch tadka toh lagaya....lol yeah she said her usual rinse/repeat bakwaas but it was better than Dev's loser crying to me....lol.....it's hilarious that even AC has just become a prop for them to use for token beizzati of Imlie in any other scene....otherwise they haven't given much sense of continuity to AC's storyline since the big blowup with Adi last time.

Well, the last scene today was filled with quite heavy handed symbolism....lol let's see if they use that to bring about some coherent flow in the story in the coming epis.
