Was Jism a path-breaking film for Bollywood?

Not in terms of content, but in terms of pushing the envelope as far as depicting sexuality onscreen is considered. I think Jism, released way back in 2003, was the first film which showed intimate scenes in almost every alternate sequence. Bold and atmospheric, an ultra-slick product that relies little on plot twists or standard action sequences, it relied heavily on the lead pair's iconic chemistry and made John Abraham a star overnight.

Agreed, but Jism crawled so Murder could run😆

It started with Raaz in 2002. Jism took it further. Also Bipasha was a revolution as a dark-skinned sex siren in an industry obsessed with fair skin

I never watched the movie. The acting seemed atrocious. That didn't stop me from drooling over John in Madhoshi

raaz barely even had a single kissing scene..it was nothing close to pushing any envelop..it was a BB for sure but nothing path breaking..unless you wana believe that there was no intimacy ever shown in BW movies before
