Malini's issue right now is that Adi is doing things without taking her into confidence, especially when it comes to Imlie. Adi is the main one at fault here cuz if he just wanted to get the gift as a gesture for Imlie, he could have easily run it by Malini......but he didn't. Imlie has infact managed the situation by covering up for his mistake.

All these little lies are building up all because of the one main big lie.....until they clear that one up, these lies will keep piling up no matter what. But that is how the story has to go for the ultimate big explosion to occur one day.

Exactly! So the main question is...why DIDN'T he run it by Malini? It's not such a big deal, getting someone a new salwar suit because the old one was ripped..and Malini would have had no problem if Adi had told her this much...why did he feel the need to do it secretly if he felt nothing more than just platonic consideration for Imlie?

The reason is because there is MORE going on in his heart and despite whatever he might convince himself, this gift was NOT just because she tore her salwar suit. He gave her this gift because he felt like it, plain and simple...because he's starting to feel things for her...things that he is not even ready to acknowledge himself, let alone tell Malini😳

I was finally able to catch up on all the episodes and though the kada/mimicry scene were the best, Aditya expression yesterday takes away the cake. There was so much confusion, then realization, hurt and betrayal in that gaze. Loved it.

Coming to the episodes and may be, because I was watching them back to back, I kind of noticed a pattern that is Adtya is so ready to take the blame in all his conversation with Malini. Be it with the raincoat or the kada that he gave Imlie, (How sweet was that ) both times Malini made it about herself and Aditya was the one making amends to her . In the first, she was like if you would listen to me, if I would have been with you I would have never let you get wet and you would not have fallen sick (Though I burst out laughing when he said that good you didn’t come with me. That was so instant and so to the mark🤣) and Aditya was rightfully contrite. Second time also it was the same with the kada. She again made it about herself that you have stopped trusting me and I do care about Imlie, blah blah, blah and Aditya's reaction again was "Sorry". He did not even bother to explain that it was just an instant reaction, like she did it for Imlie, he did it for Imlie. There was no thought involved there that I should ask Malini, check with her, tell her, it was simply concern/care for Imlie similar to hers but expecting communication from them is like

Following on the same thread, after the mimicry scene when Aditya went to Imlie, his first thought was again about taking the blame that is are you crying because I said hurtful things. So it was really a novel experience for him when Imlie said that his words are part of her regular life and do not matter and her crying is because she made such a foolish mistake. All his thoughts at that point were to console her and the amazing thing is, it was not at all with the flowery words that he uses with Malini. In that two minute, not only did he manage to console her by using straight forward words that truth has a way of revealing itself and its really is not her fault but he also shared his own fear about the bigger truth and his wish that it should be revealed on his own terms. (I think not😒). It was such a simple one on one conversation, an equal talk, where there was no pretense but simply an easing of regret and pain by making the other comfortable with their own thoughts, just a sweet sharing of their innermost thoughts, fear and wishes.smiley42

Aditya had come to apologize but as I always say where Imlie is concerned, "Sorry" and "Thank you" are not in his dictionary and here to there was no "sorry", no "apology" because there was no need of it. He only said it when Malini forced him to say it but it was just a formality as they both knew that there was no need of it as their talk has already resolved their differences. One thing to note is how far they have come, where in the past Aditya would have stormed to her room with the intention to bombarding her, this time it was only to console her and both times they were able to resolve their differences before leaving the room.

I really liked the fact that though the whole drama was about her entering his room, she still did not cross that boundary and he did not ask her to. This time, its was not because it was explicitly said but it was still understood, that space is off limits to her, not because its his but because it’s a space he shares with Malini and hence its just not right for Imlie to enter it. Amazingly, they have created their own space where they argue, talk, fight and resolve their differences. Other thing to note that all his statements to his family and Malini about his feelings, behavior and attitude towards Imlie were in the past tense. So, he does know the anger and hatred is gone but he still has no answer to Imlie's question about the "now". About that he is totally clueless.

As I said before, this is the guilt phase of Aditya for Imlie and this is what prompted the gift, a way of making amends. There was, again, no thought behind it, no hidden agenda. It was as simple as, if I had the raincoat I would have given it to Imlie. It was just his way to make her feel nice and assuage his guilt for all the wrong doing, he has been realizing in these past few days, that he has been doing to her. He does not find anything wrong in that and hence he did not share it with Malini. But either Aditya is blind or he is just a very straightforward person for whom right is right and left is left and everything needs to be explicitly said or he has never even tried to read or understand Malini or has no clue how possessive Malini is of him. If he would have, then he would have understood that based on the recent two incidents, first the outburst at AC's place and then the kada conversation, both of which were related to Imlie, him buying the dress for Imlie, without discussing with Malini, would not sit well with her. Imlie, as she is very astute person, and who has been witness to both the incidents, has a kind of inkling to Malini's possessive nature for Aditya. She also knows about her BS fear that one mistake, one small step can destroy everything. Hence, she took the steps to negate the situation before it escalated. (Not sure if the writers just remembered her breakdown and are completing that loop😆).Whether its was the right step or wrong, only time will tell.

Lastly, I feel that her lie is not going to sit well with Aditya. Not only because she gave the credit to Sundar but also because it added one more lie to the list. It just might be one too many for an honest and truthful person like him and we might witness another outburst from him. Lets just see who is the recipient this time. It might be Malini if they want to make her mahaan again by adding more guilt and Ehsaan to that relationship.🥱

PS: I loved the male bonding scene, it was so typical.😆 I also liked the fact that it Imlie who said that ,why are ladies dependent on the males to do something. She does have a quest for knowledge and has a more independent thinking so hopefully they explore it more in the right way.

After watching today's SBS segment, I am pretty sure it will take atleast 300-500 episodes!! 😆

Even I feel it will take a lot more time for CVs to show Adi falling for Imlie. He is in a care mode now. All said and done..I hate watching Malini-Adi chipkao scenes. Malini is not in the wrong here, but I wish Adi could do it in their private space 😬

I have to say for an Indian joint family with older generation Tripathi’s are quite progressive. I am basing this on my general observation of families. Husband wife romance is usually reserved to their private space. For example, Adi giving a kiss to Malini in the kitchen in front of everyone.

Coming back to Adi and Imlie, if Adi was that concerned about Imli, he should have gotten some more pairs which she could wear on a day to day basis and not a party wear!! 🙄 plus he should have given it to someone in his family to pass it on. Imlie has also complicated the whole situation without meaning to. Now she will have to tolerate T’s matchmaking efforts. One good thing that can come out of theses is that Adi could declare that they should stop all this matchmaking and Imli shd focus on her studies.

Lovely analysis but esp the bold points

So true that they have this mutual understanding where they understand the emotion the feeling instead of using the formal words the sorry was understood without actually saying it he was sorry it showed in the entire conversation it was understood mutually

And second intresting imlie's little space is really becoming their space with the way his can open up so freely there it is like one gets to see a totally different Aditya in that little nook and it is beautiful

On another note, I also felt that the kitchen scene when the ladies were discussing whether or not their husbands are expressive about showing their love for them was interesting. Aparna mentioned that Adi's father never says "I love you" but he expresses it through some gesture or the other every single day. Malini responds saying, "Oh that means Adi hasn't gone on his father....he says I love you so many times to me but seems to struggle with showing it romantically"😆

Such a telling moment....Malini ko pura din "I love you" sunke bhi Adi se woh "loved" hone ka feel nahin aata.....while Adi's parents seem to share that old school kind of love that doesn't need an official declaration for love to be felt. Then there's Adi himself....Moon ko pura din "I love you" bolta rahega but khud sabse zyada feel isko ek SHIKAYAT waali letter se aaya love ka😛.....Adi is actually very much like his father, Malini😆.....bas tum nahin samjhi. He is also the type to express his love through gestures rather than declarations. Isiliye tumhein 100 "I love you" sunke bhi tassalli nahin hoti aur Imlie ko ek moti roti mein, ek hanky mein, aur gusse mein bhi fikar dikh jaati hai😆. And it's the same for Adi as well.....Malini's 100 "I love you's" didn't leave the impact on him that the one shikayat waali letter from Imlie did....he also measures love through simple gestures, not grand declarations. He just doesn't realize that he doesn't have it with Malini even after 7 years.

Yup adi is the guy who believes in actions his live and care just shines through he struggles with all the pyar ka izhar and hence when he is made to do these formalities they just sound so fake caz he doesn't put his heart into it it just is the words that he writes meaning nahi hots inke peeche it is like following a ritual only ke karo aur khatam karo even if thr poor guy tries to put a feeling woh aati nahi hai caz his feeling is in chote se things like the shared bike ride the shawl he got even for moon but the woman doesn't see that usko woh sab ki value samjh nahi aati unless and until an essay is with it .. and even agar essay ho bhi toh bhi she gets over the words quiete quickly it is like kebte raho mujhe but I will not Saveur it sunne ke baad unsuna ek kaan se suno dusre se nikalo fanda so.even if one tries to do it the way she likes it doesn't stay with her.. with Imlie though these gestures make so much difference she sees through his act of anger the hardshell he has around him in these moments and cherish them real hard hence itne normal everyday moment bhi become.so special and memorable

This just shows that he's one of those kind of guys who don't think through the meaning of romantic gestures....no-nonsense types😆....isliye he gave it to Imlie matter of factly without thinking about the perception it will bring😆.

Saara din jhalli imli ko bolta hai but asal jhalla toh khud hi hai 😆 for him it was such a regular thing ke sab ko dia toh imlie ko bhi dedo ek dum innocent sa ek gesture samjh nahi hai caz kabhi kia hi nahi hai ke kya would be appropriate gift for a househelo in eyes of others equality main almost same hi cheez le aaya as his wife uske liye bas red sari and iske liye red suit.. adorable is this bewakoofi and hassi bhi aa rahi hai.. caz it is such a stupid and obvious WTH moment 🤣 but isko such mainnhi idea nahi hai jhalla honest mistake on his end

Good episode again today. Not sure why the actor playing nishant was brought in. What is he supposed to be a catalyst for when it looks like sundar might end up knowing Imlie's truth and will help her hide the truth of the gift purchased? Might be that his sickness will break adi and he will lean in on imlie for support. Doubts are now brewing in malinis mind. Pehla jhoot pakda usne par sundar ne sambaal li.
