I was finally able to catch up on all the episodes and though the kada/mimicry scene were the best, Aditya expression yesterday takes away the cake. There was so much confusion, then realization, hurt and betrayal in that gaze. Loved it.
Coming to the episodes and may be, because I was watching them back to back, I kind of noticed a pattern that is Adtya is so ready to take the blame in all his conversation with Malini. Be it with the raincoat or the kada that he gave Imlie, (How sweet was that ) both times Malini made it about herself and Aditya was the one making amends to her . In the first, she was like if you would listen to me, if I would have been with you I would have never let you get wet and you would not have fallen sick (Though I burst out laughing when he said that good you didn’t come with me. That was so instant and so to the mark🤣) and Aditya was rightfully contrite. Second time also it was the same with the kada. She again made it about herself that you have stopped trusting me and I do care about Imlie, blah blah, blah and Aditya's reaction again was "Sorry". He did not even bother to explain that it was just an instant reaction, like she did it for Imlie, he did it for Imlie. There was no thought involved there that I should ask Malini, check with her, tell her, it was simply concern/care for Imlie similar to hers but expecting communication from them is like
Following on the same thread, after the mimicry scene when Aditya went to Imlie, his first thought was again about taking the blame that is are you crying because I said hurtful things. So it was really a novel experience for him when Imlie said that his words are part of her regular life and do not matter and her crying is because she made such a foolish mistake. All his thoughts at that point were to console her and the amazing thing is, it was not at all with the flowery words that he uses with Malini. In that two minute, not only did he manage to console her by using straight forward words that truth has a way of revealing itself and its really is not her fault but he also shared his own fear about the bigger truth and his wish that it should be revealed on his own terms. (I think not😒). It was such a simple one on one conversation, an equal talk, where there was no pretense but simply an easing of regret and pain by making the other comfortable with their own thoughts, just a sweet sharing of their innermost thoughts, fear and wishes.
Aditya had come to apologize but as I always say where Imlie is concerned, "Sorry" and "Thank you" are not in his dictionary and here to there was no "sorry", no "apology" because there was no need of it. He only said it when Malini forced him to say it but it was just a formality as they both knew that there was no need of it as their talk has already resolved their differences. One thing to note is how far they have come, where in the past Aditya would have stormed to her room with the intention to bombarding her, this time it was only to console her and both times they were able to resolve their differences before leaving the room.
I really liked the fact that though the whole drama was about her entering his room, she still did not cross that boundary and he did not ask her to. This time, its was not because it was explicitly said but it was still understood, that space is off limits to her, not because its his but because it’s a space he shares with Malini and hence its just not right for Imlie to enter it. Amazingly, they have created their own space where they argue, talk, fight and resolve their differences. Other thing to note that all his statements to his family and Malini about his feelings, behavior and attitude towards Imlie were in the past tense. So, he does know the anger and hatred is gone but he still has no answer to Imlie's question about the "now". About that he is totally clueless.
As I said before, this is the guilt phase of Aditya for Imlie and this is what prompted the gift, a way of making amends. There was, again, no thought behind it, no hidden agenda. It was as simple as, if I had the raincoat I would have given it to Imlie. It was just his way to make her feel nice and assuage his guilt for all the wrong doing, he has been realizing in these past few days, that he has been doing to her. He does not find anything wrong in that and hence he did not share it with Malini. But either Aditya is blind or he is just a very straightforward person for whom right is right and left is left and everything needs to be explicitly said or he has never even tried to read or understand Malini or has no clue how possessive Malini is of him. If he would have, then he would have understood that based on the recent two incidents, first the outburst at AC's place and then the kada conversation, both of which were related to Imlie, him buying the dress for Imlie, without discussing with Malini, would not sit well with her. Imlie, as she is very astute person, and who has been witness to both the incidents, has a kind of inkling to Malini's possessive nature for Aditya. She also knows about her BS fear that one mistake, one small step can destroy everything. Hence, she took the steps to negate the situation before it escalated. (Not sure if the writers just remembered her breakdown and are completing that loop😆).Whether its was the right step or wrong, only time will tell.
Lastly, I feel that her lie is not going to sit well with Aditya. Not only because she gave the credit to Sundar but also because it added one more lie to the list. It just might be one too many for an honest and truthful person like him and we might witness another outburst from him. Lets just see who is the recipient this time. It might be Malini if they want to make her mahaan again by adding more guilt and Ehsaan to that relationship.🥱
PS: I loved the male bonding scene, it was so typical.😆 I also liked the fact that it Imlie who said that ,why are ladies dependent on the males to do something. She does have a quest for knowledge and has a more independent thinking so hopefully they explore it more in the right way.
