I agree!!! While I'm super duper mad at her, I still want her to continue writing if that's truly what she wants to exceed at. Heck, I have my own pieces floating around her from 10 years ago, and they weren't anywhere near as good as they are now. Writing is a craft that can only be honed with practice. It's not a talent that can be so easily stolen.

I wish so as well, but unfortunately IF isn't that great when it comes to helping out writers. The only safe space that I've operated in without any problems has been AO3.

AO3 has a lot of Indian shows/ movies and series fictions. You can find a lot of world on Bollywood and Tollywood movies like Bahubali, Padmaavat etc and shows like Qubool Hai, Kumkum Bhagya, IPKKND etc. And most of all Authors have copyrights and anti- theft security

IF won't do anything when it comes to works being stolen onto different websites. The best advice they can give is to use the copyright tag, which is pointless since I've had stories stolen that had that tag.

I'm currently shifting everything onto AO3 under the same pseudonym. Idk when I'll get around to doing the same for Wattpad. But tbh, it's just super tedious and I just keep getting reminded of this crime that was committed. (And no, I'm not exaggerating, plagiarism is a crime.)

I'm just absolutely demotivated to publishing anything more. I'm still writing; I just don't want to put anything out there because I have this fcking cloud hanging over my head that keeps asking me who's going to steal my work next.

plagiarism is a crime & I feel India should have better laws for it.. where you can actually take legal action

I get your pain.. its like someone stealing research & showing as their own..(for a medicine or treatment) thats like most painful thing.. you spend hours & hours on it & in a sec its vanished & someone puts their name on it.. than behave like nothing happened... I wish you could take legal action on that girl.. we needs laws to prevent it..

People are awful.. humans can be worse when it comes to fame.. 🤬🤬🤬

The thing with fanfiction is that it's extremely tricky to fight cases for. Firstly, the geographical location will play a huge influence. The laws protecting me in Canada will vary greatly with those in India. Moreover, I can't fight on the basis of complete ownership of these pieces since I don't own these characters or the IMMJ2 IP.

The only protection that can be provided is via the hosting sites which AO3 and Wattpad have been great in doing. I was genuinely amazed to see such swift action from Wattpad tbh. I hadn't expected them to act that quickly. I guess, I was just used to seeing IF's lack of action for these many years.

Well, her account is deleted now so there's not much that I can do on that front anymore.

Laws, for sure, but there's a lot of intricate complexities that need to be navigated in that department. The onus lies on the individual hosting sites at the moment to protect their writers and their works.

May be we should complain to IF.. if there are enough people complaining than may be they will make some changes.. may be we should campaign..
