I was confused for a moment after seeing Carrier.

On topic... Lagaan, maybe. Regardless of other BO hits, Lagaan really made AK's rep as a script picker, I think... might be wrong.

No the film was a blockbuster. If u adjust it to today's money it made 1.4 billion rupees.

Distributors weren't ready to buy the film, they said everything is a flop, actor is also nothing great (coz Aamir debuted at a time when angry young man was in) and they criticised the music like anything.

Nasir Hussain himself distributed the film...and the rest is history. The film was a huge success, the album was a much bigger success.

I don't know about Amir's "carrier" but the biggest aircraft carrier belongs to the US Navy. 😛

Lagaan was his breakout in terms of quality. Biggest though - Dangal

In terms of footfalls in India, Raja Hindustani is his highest but Dangal isn't far behind in an era where films averaged far fewer footfalls than the mid 90s. And Dangal did far better overseas
