Chapter 41

“Arrival in the world is really a departure and that,

which we call departure, is only a return.”

Huffing and puffing he ran. He ran as fast as his legs could make him run. Never in his life had he thought a day will come where he would end up like this. He Kailash Rai Singhania would be running for his dear life in prisoners' clothes on the road from police following him. He could hear the sirens they were near. Damn it he thought. He knew in this field this was always a possibility but he was smarter all these years of him never ever being even doubted by anyone was proof enough. The sirens grew louder.

“Catch him”

He heard the voice and looked back only to find a police van behind him with a police officer looking out shouting, pointing at him. They kept nearing him and suddenly a black SUV came in front of him making him come to a stop and its door opened for him.

“Boss, come in fast”

He heard the voice of one of his men and stepped inside the SUV and they rushed off just in time before police could catch him.

“Ah, actually I came to inform you two about the hearing in the court for your divorce. It's after 15 days after the final hearing and after it; you two would be officially divorced and could go to your separate ways. Just 15 days more you two need to be together.

The words echoed in his head again. Uneasiness had gripped his heart since the moment Mr Chauhan had left after delivering this news a while ago. It wasn't a long ago that he was up to this idea not necessarily delighted by it but definitely, never did he hated the mere thought of it like now. One thing he was sure of now he did not want to let her go. He does not want this divorce anymore. Then suddenly he remembered something, something his sister had said to him not very long ago.

“Really bhai sometimes I wonder who you are lying to. You don’t love Ragini bhai. You never had loved her.”

Was Ishani right? Did he not loved Ragini ever because if he did then why did he never felt the way he is feeling right now at the mere thought ofRiddhima leaving when Ragini actually left him even betrayed him? He was sad but never felt lost at the thought of her not being there in his life.

Thinking lost in his thoughts he came downstairs and crashed in on with a body.

“Ouch dude watch out”

came a very much annoyed voice of Sejal.

“Sorry I didn’t see you”

Vansh apologized

“Obviously, no surprises there, considering how blind you are. This is not the first time either you have proven how a willing blind you are and to a lot more things than just this incident.”

Sejal replied with a sarcastic smile.

“You hate me so much right? May I know why?”

Vansh asked looking at the girl in front of him observing her folding his hands.

“Dude, are you really that dumb or acting to be?”

Sejal said surprised and continued with

“You hurt the one person who is important to me, a girl who is not just my best friend but also my sister my family she is.”

Then heaving a sigh

“You and your family none of you were ever worthy of her. God knows how she even got stuck with you hard luck.”

Sejal said kissing her teeth.

“No worries though, soon very soon no more the likes of you will be able to hurt her. They’ll think before ever crossing with her.”

Sejal said with a thoughtful look forming on her face.

“You better watch out.”

She said threateningly with narrowed eyes before turning away to leave making Vansh raise his brows at her. Then stopping she turned around to look at him

“You know when I came to know about her marriage to you I was really happy. I always knew whoever the person Riddhima ends up being married to would be really lucky but when I got to know it was you I felt maybe even my Riddhu is lucky to have you. I never really liked that Kabir but when I got to know about you I was happy. I had heard a lot about you. How you value loyalty, relations, and dedication towards them. So I thought a person who values all these things would be the one who will give it to her partner. I thought you are exactly what my Ridzi needed someone who would love her as fiercely and selflessly as she does to others. Someone who will value her, respect her. Someone worthy of her but here we are. It wasn’t your money or status that made me think so highly about you but the qualities I thought you might harbour but what a disappointment you turned out to be, rather a hypocrite I'll dare say. I expected better from you for some reason even when I never met you or know you. Anyway have a good day.”

Sejal said about to leave when Vansh stopped her saying

“One-day Sejal”

“What’s the point? It’s late”

Sejal said for the one last time and left from there leaving Vansh in his thoughts. For some reason, today Sejal’s words affected him. For reasons today he wasn’t able to say anything to her, what exactly would he have said?

Should I or should I not? Ragini thought peeping in between from the bushes at VR Mansion confused not able to decide.

Damn it I have to meet Riddhima but I can’t go inside without anyone noticing me. This stupid phone had had to die as well I can’t even call her to come out.

“I guess I’ll have to come tomorrow to meet her”

Ragini said to herself straightening up.

Turning around she was about to leave when a voice stopped her in her track.

“You? What are you doing here?”

Riddhima had been reading a book sitting on the bench situated on the lawn of the house while a pair of eyes were looking at her through binoculars.

“Vansh I came to meet Riddhima. I wanted to talk to her regarding something before I leave the town for a few days. It’s important.”

Ragini said hesitantly.

“Why do you want to meet my wife and what is there to talk with her for you?”

Vansh said folding his arms then unfolding them and exhaling a deep breath he said

“You know what leave it I don’t want to hear. Just leave Ragini.”

Turning around he was about to leave when he got stopped hearing her words.

“I wanted to meet you as well.”

Words rushed out of her mouth making her shut her eyes tightly.

“I wanted to apologize but Vansh I don’t regret what I did.”

Ragini said straightening up while Vansh’s back was facing her.

“Really, then for what exactly are you sorry for?”

He said baffled turning around to look at her.

“I am sorry for the way things had to happen but I am not sorry for making you stop from hurting Riddhima. I am not sorry for helping her and you indirectly. I am not sorry for stopping you from turning into another Kabir if not worse.”

Ragini said looking straight into his eyes making his eyes widen in surprise and realization. Then pausing for a moment she continued

“You were angry with Kabir for what he did to me but what about you Vansh? What about the things that you were planning to do with Riddhima?”

“How did you?”

Vansh began astounded.

“I know a lot more Vansh but that’s not important right now.”

“Vansh remember that day on the terrace when I asked you about Riddhima what you said.”

Ragini said looking at him cautiously trying to gauge his expressions and reactions.

“Riddhima is someone who had been equal tome. From the day I met her she stood up to me I liked her guts. She used to challenge me in ways she still does. One thing I admire and respect her for is her pure heart and her inner strength.”

He remembered the words he said to her. Seeing him remembering it she smiled and said

“That day itself I understood you are in love with her if I had any doubts it got cleared that day. The shine in your eyes that was there when you were talking about her anyone could have understood. The look on your face said it all Vansh. It was that day I was sure I have to do this. You might not understand it right now but one day you will understand that whatever I did was for your own betterment and good. There is a lot I want to say to you but right now is not the right time.”

Ragini said looking to her left side with a solemn look forming on her face looking at the sun that was setting down.

“How was betraying me was equivalent to doing well to me?”

Vansh asked her observing her trying to understand her and her actions.

“Sometimes Vansh being soft does not work sometimes it's hard pushes that get us going. As kids when we made mistakes our parents at times used to punish us, beat us, hurt us but all of that was for our own betterment. To make us understand, to make us learn lessons to not be repeated again. Honestly, when I got to know what you were doing and planning to do with Riddhima I was so angry. I thought how could you? You knew how it feels still? After what I did with you, you should know better but I guess I understand now why you still went ahead with it. I was important for you but not enough. You loved me but not enough.”

Ragini said with a knowing smile playing on her face while Vansh looked the other way feeling a little uncomfortable at the truthful realization of her words.

“I might have never loved you as a lover good for me. I got saved, from one more heartbreak, which was bound to happen but I do consider you as someone dear and a friend especially after everything you have done for me. At the time when I was lost in my madness, you took care of me. Thank you Vansh and I am sorry for what I did with you for the first time though not the second time. The first time I betrayed you with the intention of hurting you, and well for the all wrong reasons, but the second time was to teach you a lesson. A lesson you must learn to never make the same mistakes in the future so that those mistakes don’t stop you from leading a happy life. So I am saying it to you as a friend, don’t lose her, you would never find another girl like her a complete gem of a person. It was your good luck you found her but if you lose her for whatever reason especially because of that Kabir or your ego, pride, or whatever that would be the worst thing that could happen to you. Tell her Vansh. Let her know about your feelings before it's too late.”

Ragini said with a friendly smile earning a half-smile from the man.

“I’ll take your leave, take care, Vansh. I’ll come later to meet her.”

She said and got a nod as a reply and left.

Strange once more he was left speechless on the same day. Once more he had nothing to say to the person in front of him. Though he had always made tall claims of his love for Ragini; but now he realized how shallow they were. It wasn’t just Ragini who had betrayed him even he did betray her. Nothing could explain why he married Riddhima just to avengeKabir if he loved Ragini. Why did he leave her? Why did he choose his revenge, his hate over her? Simple, because as she said; she wasn’t important enough. He never loved her enough. Though, he won’t repeat his mistakes with Riddhima not anymore. I’ll confess to Riddhima and ask for her hand in marriage once again. A new beginning for us is going to be. Vansh thought with a smile.

“What? Are you sure about it?”

Mohan asked alarmed, to the person standing in front of me.

“When did it happen?”

Mohan questioned standing up taking in a deep breath.

“Sir, a day before yesterday.”

replied his subordinate standing on the other end of the table in between parting them.

“Then why the hell did I am getting to know about it now?”

Mohan barked to him.

“It had been over a day Kailash Rai Singhania had run away and you are informing it to me now? You do realize how dangerous he is or not?”

He shouted at the men standing there with their heads held down.

“Alerteveryone, send in his pictures to every police station and send out his posters do whatever you have to. Do, whatever it takes but I want Kailash RaiSinghania in our custody as soon as possible.”

Kailash said instructing them and dismissed the men.

“I should inform Riddhima and alert her up.”

Mohan mumbled to himself and picks his phone up dialling her number. As soon as the call is answered he said

“Hello, Riddhima?”

He asked anxiously.

“Yes, inspector Mohan. How are you? How did you call me?”

Riddhima asked greeting him with a smile.

“Riddhima, hear me out Kailash Rai Singhania had run away. He might come after you be alert and don't leave the house alone. Are you hearing me?”

Mohan said seriously.

She had been strolling outside the house just around the corners not far away from the home. Strangely the entire day she had been having this weird feeling as if someone was watching her, but every time she looked around she did not found a single person not to mention now all the people who might have posed her some kind of deadly threat were all behind the bars as far as she knows of. Hence, she ignored her instincts only if she knew what a grave mistake it was.

She had been standing in front of the gates of VR Mansion when her phone rang. To her surprise, it was inspector Mohanon the call. Once she picked her call up she realized what that feeling was she had been having the entire day. As soon as she heard the man had managed to run away she froze on her spot. Just when inspector Mohan finished his words she felt a presence behind her turning around she saw the very man they feared about.

“Hello, little girl”

Kailash Rai Singhania stood there with a sardonic smile playing on his face. A chill ran throughout her body freezing her deep till her bones.

“We meet again.”

He said looking at her coming near to taking a step towards her simultaneously making her take a step back and coming to a stop.

“Hello, hello Riddhima, are you hearing me? Hello”

Rang Mohan’s voice in the background on the phone which got forgotten somewhere in between.

“Hello”

Chappy 41 is so good I liked Sejal conversation with vansh and ragini conversation with vansh before vansh ask chance to riddhi to their marriage life I think it's too late looking forward for your upcoming update to know about what happened to riddhi and waiting for ridhay entry keep rocking both of you take care of yourself

I just love how much growth you have given to Ragini. Sejal and Ragini and their words were 👏 I got that feeling of satisfaction while reading this chapter.

And I knew kailash won't sit still. Hope too much danger isnt in the cards for Riddhima.
