Thank you for mentioning this. Iām sick of the comparisons as well. Itās quite obvious they are making their own version and may have been inspired by previous ones for the premise of the show, but what has followed since then is original. These characters are original.
Also, maybe Iām a bit of a sadist but I donāt mind the Adi-Malini scenes, theyāre needed for the story to progress. This is a slow burn romance and while we may know where it is headed, the journey and conflicts are important. The story would be nothing without them.
Aditya needs to face head on his crumbling relationship with Malini, needs to realize that it is far from perfect as heās always thought of it. And then to realize heās falling in love with Imlieāwow will that be some reckoning.
Malini too for her part needs to stop being a caricature of the perfect wife/daughter/daughter in law. From the trauma of her childhood and her parents constant fights sheās become this cookie-cutter model of perfection, but she isnāt. As the last episode proved, there are human shades in her, some shades that resemble her mother even. Which I donāt think is bad. Her mother is OTT, but sheās been badly traumatized as well. Itās just that while Malini went to the extreme side of perfection and goodness, her mother drifted to the opposite side of the spectrum. Throw in some TRP need for drama, and her motherās characterization makes sense.
As for AdiLie, Iām loving the slow burn, the nuanced conversations and smiles. What a change from typical ITV. Hope the writers can keep this up.
I just finished binge watching the episodes after sindoor trp gimmickry, and itās great to see this show rebound. Fingers crossed it remains that way. Have to say, your posts have been so refreshing to read. Love the positivity and honest analysis after every episode!
