Sirat’s financial background?

I watched Mohsin’s latest byes about Kartik coming to see Sirat’s background and he said the first thing that was established about her is that she’s very poor.

I didn’t pay much heed to it before but looking back, I am wondering what was the point of showing Sirat not having money to pay for her grandmother’s medicines as the first scene?

Obviously seeing her house and lifestyle he had to know that she’s not well off but why make it the first thing that he learns about her?
I wonder if this financial difference would somehow come into play in the future storyline? I doubt he would offer her money to pose as Naira as some people suggested before but there has to be a catch to it or maybe I am just over analysing.
Anyways, story wise, I don’t like how Goenka’s will once again have an upper hand over these new characters and Sirat. They used to treat Singhania’s like dirt even though they were equals, now what will do with people who are actually quite below them in social status.

I don't think any foreshadowing means anything anymore. We also thought that Gayu hugging Akshu tightly was supposed to mean something. But nada.

Kartik noticing her financial condition must be either because it's the most obvious thing or to throw Sirat another pity party.
