I feel old dramas had more strong female characters than new ones. Dramas like : Dhoop Kinarey , Tanhaiyaan are ageless. They highlighted the power of women who aspire to make it big in a realistic way.

Mashal from Besharam will remain one of my fav characters. ❤️

On the other hand Kanwal from Baaghi who was another strong character failed to impress me, because I find going against your culture norms should be in a decent way. And she used the freedom she acheived in a bad way. Just my pov. 😳

I heard that the story of drama serial "Bhaaghi" was based on the life of (late) model Qandeel Baloch(RIP).

You are right. Baaghi was based on QB's lifestory. Saba Qamar did gr8 job in it. 😃 But as a character I sympathied with her in many occasions, and couldn't feel for her in others, coz she made some bad choices.😒

Bad choices? May ALLAH forgive her and Grant her jannah. I have heard that Baaghi drama was very popular in both Pakistan and India. Why did Qandil Baloch's brother kill Qandil Baloch? I heard she was a divorced woman.

Kashaf..from ZGH...comes to my mind...as per the topic..any girl from middle class .who is working could relate to it...the serial has affected me a lot....its more like a role model -- serial for me...every person is teaching u some thing...

Being a working woman .n.unmarried...myself...while watching it...i felt so much like her....

You know in the drama she was shown sharing an apartment with a male friend . I know he was somehow not interested in woman.. but still in our society it is unacceptible. Also she used to post videos on youtube which are inappropriate , she dances in short dresses..and go to Dubai with men.. I am not sure though what was her actual job. But her life choices were controversial.. and coming from a small village in Panjab, this made her brothers ashamed of her. This is why her brother killed her, as a case of honor killing.

I don't know if the drama is pased on Qandeel's real story.. but there are many similarities. There are another theories about her death.. but her parents themselves accepted that she was killed by her younger brother .😒

I agree , such characters are common in our society. Most of us come from middle class families, we learn and have jobs to be independant and help our families too. However drama makers like to focus on bichaari girls who are looked at as burden on their families.. so the better way is to get them married , to end their parents suffer..and start a life time suffer for the girl.😔

Another theories ??? Honour killing is a great crime. I have heard a lot of strange things about late actress- model Qande Baloch. She is buried in a cemetery in Multan. I don't know if this is true or not but I have heard somewhere that She has been tortured in the grave..Grave diggers and many others have claimed to have heard screams from Qandeel Baloch's grave.
