You make it sound like love is a planned process. It is just happening to her. She is not planning it and even if she moves away and focuses on her education, she is not going to forget her love. Yes she is in for a heartbreak but she is not in the dark about reality. She knows adi loves malini but the heart wants what it wants. She would probably give up on adi knowing malini is her sister but would that erase what she feels for adi? No, it would just complicate things.
