I get your point but I think Ruby did a good job. Transgenders who watched the show also felt the same way. And this isnt the first time an actor as played a trans role.

But hopefully this show opened doors for trans ppl. I know a lot of trans people appreciated the show.

But at least they began somewhere. I liked the concept. Actors have to play lesbian, gay, trans etc and there is no rule that they must be gay or lesbian to play those roles.

What I meant was they should have gone for trans actress for daughter role as the show was established. They should have done something progressive.

Straight people can play any role but how many trans people have seen in straight roles... It should go both way... Else it's misrepresentation.

I think you are mistaken. Ruby was not replaced like a Sid, she was replaced because she was done with the show. Her character was doing nothing new.

About divorce, they've been together for 7 years and I think only they best know why they reached that stage. There is no need to judge 🙄
