ITA with your observation. Anjali can get away with behaving fiendishly practically everyday. If she is not actively doing something to make Purvi's life hell, she is busy behind the scenes planning something nefarious. In these Hindi serials there is a pattern: the villain does get caught for a long time, despite plotting murder, while the heroine is given the harshest of punishments, mostly due to a misunderstanding. How many times has Purvi been driven out of the house, nearly fed to wild dogs, imprisoned, etc for no fault of her own, while the likes of Anjali are free to continue their wayward and vengeful ways?

There is gender discrimination on TV . why do they always show the female getting punished ?? Do males never ever suffer such things in their stories ??

Indeed you are correct. Furthermore, it is always the women who are shown as conniving, playing politics, plotting, and setting people against one another. When men are villains, they are easily forgiven and indulged. Look at the good-for-nothing Vaibhav. With the strict rape laws we have in India, why is he loose? Why has he not been handed over to the police? This Priyashi has no brains. She could have got her badla seeing him languish for 10-20 years in jail --yet she chooses to marry him.

Even our serial the negative and grey women characters in the form Anjali, Jyoti, Bhuri, Kallo Tai, etc. outnumber the men. We do not know what is going on with Sakshi, whether she is alive or not, and if she is alive, whether she is complicit in faking her own death. If they choose to explore this track, it will be quite a mystery. With all these shades of grey going around, my wish is for Prakashi to remain her sweet and maternal self. She need not become negative.
