The age difference is unsettling & needs to be addressed

Now we know Sirat's official age is 21.

I made a post calculating character's ages. Kartik is 36 & Kairav is 6.

That means Sirat has a 15-year difference with both father & son!

They'll be showing the same age difference between romantic/sexual Kartik-Sirat & parental Kairav-Sirat! That's so creepy! I hope they show Kartik get turned off by her age at least initially. I hope Sirat is the one to pursue this relationship, not Kartik. Because him being the one to pursue her in any way will be ruining his character even more.

There is nothing left in this show for ruining, they have ruined Kaira whom audience loved for more than 4 years, they ended their story such a sad way.. I can never except sirat in place of Naira..it’s over!!

Only way this track can be less cringe & yucky is if she’s Naira, otherwise, it’s a goner by all means.

Whats the problem your acting like India women and men are not older than their spouse. Saif married 10 years older Amrrita then 10 years younger Karenna.

You clearly don't get a very basic point.

Kareena doesn't have the same age difference with Saif & his daughter Sara. She was a 32yo successful professional when she married Saif, not a 21yo poor student like Sirat. Moreover, Saif wasn't a traumatised widower who fell for Kareena because she looks like Amrita or expected Kareena to mother his young children.

Saif was 21 like Sirat when he married a 33yo Amrita. But again, a normal relationship. Both were rich so no power imbalance. And again, Amrita wasn't a widowed, depressed majnu for a Saif-lookalike like Kartik. And to remind you, Saif-Amrita got divorced. 21 is too young to sustain such a marriage & multiple kids. Just because people in India don't get divorced, doesn't mean it's right. Kartik has already had 3 divorces. How many more does plan to collect? 😂

I can go on about other couples you mentioned too. But hope you get the point now.

I'm sorry but I don't see why people are making such issues about age difference..there has been shows where the girl has been younger than her husbands children. Even now there's shows with teenage girl married to men over 40s. We also seen shows where the women is older than the guy. There's a show on colors where actor is actually over 40 and girl is really young I find that cringy but people are watching it and liking it. Even if there's a age difference between Kartik and sairat, they won't look bad cuz that difference isn't between Mohsin and shivangi. Yes Kartik falling in love with another girl is something difficult to digest,and that's the only thing agree with you in. Age is no factor be it onscreen or real life.

It's a problem because it's YRKKH. This show got an audience because they promised not as much cringe as Colors TV or Gul Khan shows. ITV has often justified all kinds of abuse.. Doesn't make it right or above criticism.

The immense power imbalance here reinforced by the peculiar age difference is unsettling. They could have easily showed Sirat to be age-appropriate to romance Kartik & mother his kids. Not a poor student who is too young to legally buy beer in most of India.

Is Kairav only 6? he’ll definitely be at least 8.

Krishna is 10. He doesnt look or act like a 6 year old and esp someone who is half of Krishna’s age.

He was 4.5 yrs (approx after Naira-Goa track), then there was Vedika-kidney transplant drama where in they showed leap of many months including the 6month wait period in Vedika-Kartik divorce. Then there was the Luv-Kush track, then lockdown, and Naira pregnant with Akshu and now a couple of months leap.

Kairav-Sirat will have less of an age gap then Kartik-Sirat.

in Akshara’s time, it could still, still be justified. Though Akshara, Varsha were just 20, Rashmi must have been 19,20. Only Nandini was 22+ I think.

Again in Naira’s time, she couldn’t have been more than 19. With the spin off too, Mishti and Kuhu were 20, 19 respectively.

Kartik is in his mid-late 30s, they could go for a mature partner. That way when ratings fall, they can make her Naira again. But Sirat’s 21 and Naira atleast 31.

Sirat is 21 and Kartik must be 38. Age difference of over 16/17 years is not normal, even in India.

Also, in other itv shows, the age difference is emphasised with the way characters look and act. They don’t get cheesy romantic song sequences and dialogues, nor do they look almost the same in age.

Firstly I can’t see Kartik falling in love with someone else because it will undo Kaira’s entire journey of 12/14 years.

Secondly, age difference is a problem because of its context.

It’s only been a few months since Naira died & to see Kartik apparently move on with her look alike, a girl who’s almost half his age, just because she looks like his dead wife is cringe.

Had they shown him settling with a woman his age, someone who didn’t look like his dead wife, it would have been digestible because it’s realistic. People die and others eventually move on, it’s life.

To fall in love with a dead wife’s look alike won’t be love but borderline obsessive in my opinion.
