Radhika lodges police complaint
IndiaGlitz [Monday, April 07, 2008]

Actress Radhika Sarath Kumar on Monday lodged a complaint with the Chennai Commissioner of Police Nanchil Kumaran against Cine Technician Association by stating the members of the outfit had created ruckus during the filming of her serial 'Arasi'.

The members of the Cine Technician Association were demanding salary on par with the people at cinema industry. As the chief of the Tamil Small Screen Producers Association, Radhika had assured to look into their demand.

On Sunday, when the shooting for two serials - 'Arasi' and 'Lakshmi' were on in a private hospital at T Nagar, around 50 members of the Lightmen and Cine Technician Association entered the spot and attacked artistes and damaged costly shooting equipment. Over 20 of the artistes were hospitalised. The shooting was then cancelled owing to the fear of the artistes getting beaten up, Radhika said in the complaint with the police. Similarl protests were witnessed at the shooting of Simran Thirai, a tele-serial being produced by Pyramid Saimira.

😲I am so shocked..talk about being unprosessionally here...if they wanted more salary, they should have demonstrated, not attack innocent people.

Thanks for the info meli.
Several families across the world watch Arasi and Laxmi and this action of the CTA is disappointing. Lets hope for the safety and good return of health of the artistes who were involved. And then the return of the equipment.

Thanks for the info Meli.

How sad to reduce to violence. As growing nation, should not do that. There are ways to achieve their demands. But not violence.

Agreed Jagdu.

The behavior of these technicians is shocking. You are right, Meli: they behaved most unprofessionally, like hooligans. What reason did they have to attack actors who were just doing their job? I pray that Mdm Radhika, her co-stars and the "Lakshmi" cast & crew are not injured.
