But i have always maintained that people come into this business for two reasons -

1. To contribute to the craft, for the love of the craft.

2. For fame & money.

The ones that are in it for the love of craft, they stand out in the crowd of wannabes. They come prepared, know their skills and polish them as needed, when needed. Even in their debut, they may appear amateur but still show some spunk. The example i can think of is Imran Ashraf. The first few dramas i saw of him, he was in supporting roles but his acting chops were on point. Same for Sajal, Ahad, Mawra, Saba. Look at Fawad, he was a non-actor who forayed into acting and he was good from get go. Sanam Saeed is another fine example.

If the models/hosts wish to transition into acting, the least they should do is prep before debuting. More than them, i blame the producers and makers who just cast a popular face based on their beauty or popularity whether or not they are worthy of the acting opportunity. They should at least do a screen test to ensure there is a minimum level of acting skills whether it is models, star kids or show hosts.

But if fame is what these debutantes seek, then you will end up getting non-deserving non-actors in lead roles like Armeena Khan, Aiza Khan, Adnan Malik etc.

Thank you for joining the discussion. 😊

I agree that almost everyone dreams of becoming an actor. I also think that acting career has a longer life than modelling and singing.. that's why models and singers who want to secure their future become actors. Wjile in the past many models made a smooth translation from modelling to acting, like: Sanam Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui , Mehwish and even Ayeza.. many of the new generation models couldn't impress as actors.. because as you said they weren't prepared well for it.

Let's face it. Acting isn't a job. It requires lots of talent and dedication.. it deals with feelings, and life experiences, and it effects viewers in a direct way. So like you said , drama makers should only take those who have the pasic qualifications of acyors. It hurts to see undeserving actors as leads in dramas when they fail to impress.. for this maybe many models faded from dramas or don't leading roles anymore, like: Eshal Fayyaz , Abdullah Ijaz , Anam Gohar, Shehzaad Noor, Sadia Khan.

Do you know that Adnan Malik acyually studied Film making in the USA before becoming an actor?.😲This is a gr8 example that even learning acting and film making can't assure you become a good actor unless you have the talent, passion and acting skills!

Never knew Adnan Malik studied film making.. I hope it was in some other discipline and not acting because let's face it even a rock has more expressions than him. 🤣

My major disappointment with nepokids is this exact point. Unlike outsiders, they know from get go that they want to be and they can be actors but still they choose not to learn or study acting. They have the privilege, exposure, money, guidance yet they waste it. Especially in bollywood, new age nepokids like Ananya, Jahnvi etc are taking lessons on Hindi (let alone film related courses) at the age of 20, during or after their debuts. Disgusting!

I've just watched him in one drama which is Dil Banjara .. and I thought he resembles Tushar Kapoor.😆 I am not impressed by his acting skills, maybe he can do better as a director, like : Sarmad Khoosat and Yasir Nawaz who are better as directors than actors.😊

Yes. New age Bollywood actors are huge disappoinments.🤔 Not just Ananya and Janvi.. there are few more like: Sara Ali Khan , Karan Deol , Saiee Manjerkar .. 😔 I hope they take your advice and learn acting . I know natural talent is more important than learning acting.. but it is clear that they don't have the talent.🤔

None of these unskilled nepokids are getting even a penny from me in ticket sales. Neither are those biggies like Salman, Ajay, Akshay who just choose to not even try and act.

These days outsiders and newer film makers are rocking! Have you seen Tumbadd? Oh my goodness... What a fantastic movie! Pure talent in all the technical aspects of film from story, acting, direction, camera, music.

I couldn't agree more. As a kid i wanted anything but a normal regular life.. I wished for fame, money, adventures but in my late 20s i realized that having a normal life with no twists n turns is all one truly needs. Fame is a double edged sword, and in today's social media age there is nothing worth as much one's privacy. Radio Jockey is my perfect balance.. Famous enough that people know you but no one gets to see your face or know of your private life unless you share it willingly.

But hey.. If given a chance i would definitely try my hand in acting. And then i will quit it. 🤣 Humein mauka mile and hum naa karein toh baat hai but humein koi naa kare, yeh manzoor nahi. 😂😂😂😜

I am no more interested in movies now. I am aging.. and dramas seem the best thing for me. I even watch dubbed Indian soaps .😆

I used to be a huge fan of Indian movies in the 90s. That romantic era and music. Now I just watch movies if I am tired of my kids.

I've searched for Tumbadd, and found it on YT. It seems like a horror movie.☢️ Thank you for the recomendation.😃

I too wanted to act .. in a play at least.. just as a hoppy. I still have the desire to play a small role as a mother in any drama.😒
