I agree that age factor can be a double edged sword in BB but for me Sonali issue was an age thing. She was probably faking it just to stay in the show, it was her call how she wanted to portray herself. My issues is that she is maybe 3 or 4 years older than Abhinav and he is considered a hunk and she a "maa".

Exactly it was disgusting, this post is much needed. Sonali is a mother and probably just bcos of that she was treated like this. Even earlier Abhinav calling Eijaz Tau was uncool. Kavita was almost her age,Rakhi Abhinav too very close and Rubina a little few years younger so its absolutely unacceptable to age shame her. Truth is she resonates with most other Indian women who have children, not everyone is slim fit and glam like the actresses. And in all honesty Sonali does look very beautiful for her age, such lame jokes are distasteful and should be condemned.

I found it crass that Harsh said "If Ali and Jas get together" Sonali will go to theerath yaatra .Young ppl usualy go to Goa and sulk etc ....Yuck!

Actually Sonaliji ko empathy nahi toh atleast respect dena chahiye ki woh single parent hain. Aur itani independent woman hain ki himmat rakhti hain apni liking wali feelings ko sab ke saamne bol sakti hain.

Yeh sab logo ussko B-grade Bollywood comedy ki tarah treat karne lage. Aur yeh sab log 'Hollywood' ke actors ki pooja karte hain woh kitane bhi buddhe ho, West ke idols ki age yaad nahi aati. Aur yahan pe 30's cross kar do abhi tak shaadi nahi ki, bacche nahi huye...Kabb sudhregi public pata nahi.

didn't like how harsh made fun of it....

but in previous weekend, sallu was smiling with mischief...not felt he made fun...

Exactly, it was disgusting! C'mon she is in her 40s only. This skit was the main reason that pushed me to made this post. Jas is 30, Sonali 41 so what's the big difference!

I felt, the way Salman was smiling it was derogatory, but it could be just me :)

Unfortunately in media industry they have such mentality that women having age of 40+ is consider as aged but man having age of 50+ is consider as graceful

Your point is absolutely valid & we live in a society where older women are mocked for doing, saying many such things. It's not even just about being 40, TBH. Like, I've seen female judging another female on this very forum for sleeping with a teddy bear because according to them, they are too old to sleep with one. So, it's not really just the age but perspective & kinda double standard.

However about Sonali, she was just seeking attention & was looking for some angle for footage. She came across very fake & everyone caught on to that, so everyone was mocking.

I, by no means justify or agree to age shaming but respect is one such thing which one has to earn. Be it it's a 20 or 40 year old.

I agree, and I know Sonali was probably faking it, she didn't behave in a decent way I get that but it is still not okay to make fun of her because of her age , like if "Ali and Sonali get married they'll go for teerth yarta"
