Residents of Chavan niwas are well aware about Sai’s stubbornness and focus. But what was happening now even melted the hearts of the people who hated her the most. It was right, grief united all.
It’s been two days since they received any updates from Virat or his senior about his whereabouts. It’s been two days since Sai has sat in front of bappa praying for Virat’s return. The only thing she did was try DIG sirs number in between her prayers to get any updates.
The residents witnessed varied emotions from her, her initial wrath at Virat for leaving her like this, her unending tears and having a one sided conversation with bappa bargaining with him that she would do anything to get any morsel of news about him. Only Devyani was able to calm her down even aai could not control her. They tried to force feed her but nothing worked. She was Sai Joshi, who could force her to do anything. There she sat in front of lord Ganesh’s idol like a statue having a staring contest with bappa.
They all heard the police jeep arrive at the entrance and at last a tired and injured Virat stepped out of the jeep. His family rejoiced his arrival with their own tears and rants. He assured them that his injuries are very minor and apologised for worrying them. Suddenly he felt this heavy weight on his chest and a trembling figure hugging him tightly.
He realised that it was his wife, he held her shoulders and looked at her. The person who stared back at him was a hollow shell of the wife he left behind. The pain and sorrow in her eyes left him breathless. He forgot all his pain and the only thing he wanted to know was if she was alright.
Before he could say anything she looked at him and gave him the Sai Joshi smile and fainted in his arms.
