I haven't watched any recent epis so not much idea what's going on there.....main toh aaraam se first epi se dekh rahi hoon dheere dheere when I get time😆....and since it's 60 epis, it will take me a while to catch up to the current story.

I've only see a few promo clips here and there like that Dil Se wala and the one where he married Malini recently. Mujhe bas general idea hai ki he was forced to get married to Imlie in the village, then brought her with him to the city and wahaan after a while he got married to Malini since he had promised Malini he would marry her. City mein no one knows him and Imlie are married, while Village side pe everyone treats them like a married couple.

Anyways, I'm liking the first week of epis cuz interactions are being slowly built up and aisa nahin ki koi instant lowe at first sight chal raha hai.....Imlie ki Nani is a headache but other characters are good. ML is also decent and more focused on his work than faltugiri so far. The second FL - Malini is kinda insecure and clingy but phir bhi, it's understandable as a part of her character....aise nahin hai ki caricature ho.

That bearded man is Satyakaam....he has been one of the surprisingly interesting characters in my watch so far. Basically he's like a baaghi/rebel leader of the village who got disillusioned with the govt/police and now kind of fights for people's rights on his own terms. Whole village worships him and tries to hide from the police trying to capture him.

His connection to Imlie is that he was in love with Imlie's mom - Meethi. But Meethi ended up falling for shehri babu who later abandoned her and Imlie was the result. Satyakaam still has a soft corner for both Meethi and Imlie and protects them from psycho Naani too. I do LOL at how Imlie calls her Nakli Naani😆

Imlie treats him like a father figure and in one recent scene I watched, she even asked her mom why she didn't marry Satyakaam....but Meethi feels guilty that she never valued Satyakaam when she had the chance and she doesn't want to be a burden to him now. They actually have a sweet family dynamic b/w the three of them.

Oh and just for some more background, Aditya initially comes to the village to interview Satyakaam....that's how they all first meet....I'm currently in that set of epis only where Satyakaam is beginning to trust Aditya and grants him an IV.

*Edit: Oh and I'm quite liking the songs in the show so far....the "Piya tose milne" song seems to be quite inspired from retro songs....but it's a nice break from Gul just recycling O Jaana 10 times over in every show since IB😆

Oh and LOL@ Sai show ke fans hating on Imlie....kis baat pe ro rahe hain....I just saw this week's TRPs and both shows seem tied at second spot on SP for now😆.....so why such insecurity?

Although in my opinion, Imlie is notably better made of the two and has better actors too. Love triangle dono mein hai but it's better put together in Imlie in terms of humanizing the characters. Sai show seems more caricaturish. Progressive toh kisi angle se nahin hai even if pseudo woke junta wants to claim it as so.....one screaming Sai and her guardian figure pati hardly made for "progressiveness"....lol....Neil ki acting is also so weird in this show....like he has a weird blank/smug/condescending way of talking whenever I chance upon any promo clip of this. Honestly damn weird relationship b/w him and that Sai. Also, the third angle is a total cliched vamp in this one already.....lol

Epi 9 is a good epi....the consistent thing I'm enjoying about Imlie so far is how anti-shaadi she is for a supposed bholi gaaon ki ladki😆.....every chance she gets, she labels all the ppl getting married as crazy idiots who want to be caged in life😆.

Her sparring with Aditya also is nicely done without feeling like forced "tashan-giri".....the convos in this epi in particular were nice.

There was one kinda cliched udta sindoor moment but ultimately Aditya downplayed it so it was fine....lol

The other nice bit was that Imlie already knows about Malini by this point and was teasing Aditya too about his love in the city....so there isn't any of the typical love at first sight, ya feeling of "dhoka" ki baad mein pata chale he loves someone else. Right now it seems to be building up as a series of unfortunate events.....Aditya/Imlie aren't attracted to each other yet but are affable with each other and almost like friends.....he's mainly being kind to her when he can or bantering with her. Then I guess the forced shaadi will happen and that will lead to bitterness and a feeling of being trapped on both sides.

Dialogue writers wohi usual Divy-Apu hain IB waale....so the FL here also continues to name things 😆.....lol do they really not have any other trope to use? Matlab kitna over-use ho gaya hai yeh naming things wala angle. Giving nicknames is fine cuz chalo that would be more common generally but they literally write EVERY FL now as naming her things....factory assembly production ki bhi hadh hai😆

Have you guys watched Gullak? I started watching season 2 . This show is just so ❤️❤️ Such simple show about everyday problems and lives of middle class. I just love how natural and effortless the shole cast is,it just feels like I am actually peeping into a real life of a family.

Lol the punchlines this show has just in the flow of conversation 😆 There is this guy gluing on posters of beti padhai beti bachao on their windows and mom appears.😆 She reads the poster and goes hamare ghar mein to beti bhi nahi hai, the guy says to bete ko padhao hamare desh mein vaise bhi beto ko padhane ki zyada zaroorat hai! Lol so true 😆

Even in the beginning it goes like, Yeh kisse hai kahani nahi, kahani hoti to kheer mein zehar girta aur Bhanupratap khoon ki ultiyan karta 🤣🤣🤣

LOL I feel like I should caution you guys on anything I write reviews for.....aise toh maine SAKK bhi first two weeks dekh liya tha and thought it had potential😆....then you guys also got into it....aur ab dekho haal we are all put off from the show...lol

I think I'll get a better idea once I cross the two week mark of this.

Gullak is TVF waalon ki web series, right? I think I saw a promo sometime back on YT.....they've made some good stuff recently....but I personally loved Yeh Meri Family and Panchayat more.

I think with these shows its fine, as we don’t have lots of expectations to begin with. 😆Aise bhi aur kuchh hai nahi dekhne ke liye.

I loved Panchayat, I still need to watch yeh meri family , I liked how much I watched. Gullak is from TVF , its a story of Misra family, mom , dad and two brothers . 😆.

I finally got to watch those IB scenes, it was episode 43 I missed. 😆 Tiffany wala scene was in that🤣And Billu ki shaadi song I missed in that Mala- Bela crap 😆That was such an awesome song🤣

Ok, I've watched about 2.5 weeks now, so I can give a proper updated review😆

The forced shaadi was a series of unfortunate events as I expected. What was pleasantly surprising was Imlie trying to figure a way out till the end.....especially because she didn't want to force Aditya into a marriage when he loves someone else. But then, I can see why Aditya resents her too.....because Imlie is the one who first agreed to the marriage cuz the whole village was threatening to kill Aditya. She did it to save his life....but he was quite willing to die rather than marry her.....so he resents her for taking the choice away from him in a sense. What he ofcourse doesn't get is that Imlie didn't make the choice lightly either since she basically sacrificed her life's dream in order to save his life.

Since the marriage, Imlie has been in a bit of a static, sehmi hui state....but the only reason these scenes are still working is cuz the actress is doing quite a good job. I'd say she's the best new face on SP in a while......better than all the other random actresses they've launched recently.

The Aditya-Imlie dynamic is also interesting....since the marriage, Aditya has become more prickly/rude with her, while Imlie on the other hand seems to feel some guilt about being a burden on him now. Aditya has a protector streak to him....even when the villagers corner them, he sees the fear on Imlie's face and steps in front of her to protect her from the villagers. Imlie has the same kind of streak too, cuz she also stepped in front of him to protect him from the villagers when the roles reversed. I guess that dynamic is carrying into this post marriage situation.

He resents her for tagging along with him back to the city (not like she had a choice with the whole village threatening her to act like his wife), even as she herself offers to not tell anyone about the shaadi. In the city, he initially tries to get her placed in some NGO, but he ends up coming back to rescue her from trouble....and eventually is forced to take her to his house. There, Imlie sees him hesitating to introduce her to the family, so she introduces herself as a girl from the village looking for work in their house. Aditya is also struggling with trying to tell the Malini about this "incident" with Imlie, but he keeps getting interrupted by some situation.

Looks like aage ki story will be about Imlie trying to figure out a path for herself to complete her studies while temporarily being a maid in Aditya's house. She's such a lively person, toh it's obvious she will charm his whole family soon. They already seem to enjoy her bakbak. Aditya on the other hand will remain confused about feeling a sense of obligation toward Imlie while also resenting her for being thrust upon him unwillingly. Right now, he calls her patni sometimes when someone from her village shows up, and in the next breath tells her he doesn't believe in this shaadi and she better not interfere in his life.

Malini as a character seems like a bit of an airhead....the extent to which her entire existence revolves around Aditya is kinda excessive. She's otherwise a modern/educated girl......a professor....but she's totally giddy /clingy over Aditya, and over-reacts a lot about not hearing from him for a few hours. Aditya's family has mostly positive characters....his older sister seems to have a tendency towards bitterness since she had a failed marriage and seems to have some self-esteem/paranoia issues over that.....but overall it's a surprisingly positive vibe in that family which is a welcome change.

Only Malini's mom is a grey character but she also isn't the typical SP level of loud vamp so far. Anyday better than the circus in Sai show.

I also have to say the story is quite well paced in these 2.5 weeks so far. They don't drag like SAKK.

Word about the song everytime it plays i start humming piya tose naina laage re idk why it sounds so similar and then it goes piya tose milne and I got zap and go hain😆 it enhances them so much

Yeah I saw the 5 episodes in the flow hahah yeh satyakam looked a bit like jaideep ahlawat from paatal lok and raazi ka poor man's version hahah he is such a cool character the way he goes bang bang against nani uff uff aurat ko koi goli maaro I Don remember gul ke yeh ek usual ott female villains behind this annoying I mean they are all annoying but yeh extra hai

I really like imlie ka playfulness and shararatein and the way she bajaooes this nani too though woh Amma ka constantly maar khana and rona is already making me ehh about her and too much similarity to kulfi wali bechari maa I hope she stops doing this bechara rona soon. The actress is so pretty and with the gudde thing it definately brings the nuance
