To an extent I agree with the article, because in ITV shows to highlight heroins virtue the makers always does injustice with the other characters. Here in BV Gauri was also a victim but at the end she chose the same person whom she married in childhood, as a life partner in her adulthood which is not wrong. it was her choice, but the makers were hell bent on proving that she is not correct for Jagadish. Where as in reality Jagadish was wrong. The makers should have shown Anandi's growth without showing her as victim.

There is this show on Star Plus which is currently going on Air called Anupama. Here too the Heroin is shown a victim where as the other women is projected as wrong. I watched few episodes and unable to bear the torture I stopped watching it.

In reality also women are the most suppressed(60%), and I don't think that movies/ITV are influencing or anything to do with it . I also want to tell that women in totality cannot be projected as suppressed because there is indeed change in the real society. But no body are focusing on that aspect which is real. The makers on any platform are interested in projecting women as suppressed and victim which is not completely true. In most ITV shows they show the lead actress as dumb, she does not use her brain at all. It seems definition of a virtues lady is "dumb" according to ITV/Movies. I hate it.

This is directly/indirectly gender discrimination.

Padma and Madi Indian television always shows its protagonist in a sympathetic light. But in BV's case, both women are victims and Jagya the wrong one but Anandi more the victim, Gauri the lesser one because they portrayed her in shades of grey later on. But our web series do not show the other women in a bad light, they are more progressive, so change has begun.
