Hum Pardesi Ho Gaye !!!

This is the title of one of the shows from sony tv, it was from year 2002-2003 as far as i remember, i was kid but a regular viewer of this show 😆 it had left a mark on my mind that i still remember this show's almost whole story (except every other details of course) also because it was a series with limited no of episodes. Story was something like this -

An NRI named Rahul came to india to marry an indian girl within a short span of time whose proposal was brought to a girl named Mallika at her house by their known mandir's panditji. Mallika's mom immediately liked the proposal but she probably wanted to do some higher studies like Masters or wanted to do some job or something like that can't remember much, so inspite of not much interested in marriage she liked the man after meeting n got married, there was a boy in her college who was mallika's best friend n of course he used to like her but her mother never liked him n used to taunt him all the time because he wasn't rich or had a great a job in his hand. So that guy never was able to tell about his feelings to mallika n she too used to like him as her best friend only so that's another reason he never told anything to her. Mallika reached USA with her hubby n found it completely strange that his mom-dad who were completely like normal indian parents with great values n ethics doesn't really like their son n was completely not liking his sudden marriage n coming back with the wife, they basically used to dislike him because he always used to ignore his parents n most of the time he used live outside of the house. Slowly but gradually mallika won their hearts with her love n care. Now rahul actually used to date his boss's daughter named Maya who were indian as well but completely ultra modern firangi type n that is the reason he never was able to introduce her to his parents n get marry cause that girl probably not used to believe in marriage i can't remember as well neither she was sort of someone like mallika who would take care of his parents like her own parents, so basically he wanted a typical indian girl who can take care of his old parents in his house n he can be with maya always hence he married mallika n brought her as a caretaker of his parents for the rest of their lives but eventually he fall for mallika too, which means he was keeping n balancing both laddo's in his hand but he used to like maya more n used to give her importance more since she was the boss lady. So he kept cheating with everyone but eventually everything was out of the box n everyone got the shock of their lives, 1st his parents n mallika got to know about his affair, his mom died due to heart attack i guess, then maya who was by then pregnant with his child came to know about his wife n completely abandoned him, mallika's that best friend came to USA for his studies or for some job purpose can't remember got to know about everything when he contacted with mallika, rahul's father abandoned him n refused to live with him anymore along with mallika so she decided to move to another state where her friend lives with her FIL, in the last epi rahul tried to convince maya to accept him who just gave birth to their daughter but failed n lost his job as well n came back to mallika, tried to convince her too but failed there as well, mallika n the FIL left his home for good n went with her friend. Rahul standing alone in the road watching them going in the taxi.

Why i am sharing this?

1st. I found aditya's character n his situation a bit i would say not much but at least 1% similar with rahul's character. 😆

2nd. Other reason is the song of imlie 'o imliya tu bhayel pardesi ab toh ghar hai tohar videsh' has some kind of lyrics similarity with this show's title song n suits on her best, lyrics are like these -

"Baadal ko chune ki chahat to thi...

Udne ka armaan nahi tha magar...

De Diya mujhko ek ajnabi aasman....

Mere pairon se meri zameen cheen kar!

Yeah serial I used to watch ....song bahut hi amazing tha ....guess Ashish Chaudhary ,perizaad was the cast ....but serial was just fab ....👍🏼some old golden serial

I used to watch the serial. Wo kya din the. Call me old , but your post gave me a strong nostalgic attack. I still remember the song and the introduction promos and Ashish was too damn handsome , I'd a big crush on him. Un dino ki shows mein kuch alag baat thi.

I was kinda rooting for the husband wife because I loved their chemistry since the 1st promo. Was disappointed with the end. But you're right , it was completely realistic ending and I also had a strong psychological impact , like understanding that this is how it ends in relal life. Actions have consequences.

ending was the most realistic thing one can expect n viewers were happy that they go in that way only, otherwise giving a chance to that jerk who planned this whole mess in cool brain would have not been justified.

imlie mein title song ki yaad ayi toh story bhi yaad agayi aur kuch kuch similarity bhi notice ki hence shared it. 😆

i wonder why sony doesn't upload the episodes?😒 would love to refresh my memory. 😔
