My gut feeling is it's going to be a non expensive affair. All people involved have not been able to muster up excitement because of the skepticism here .

My question here is and I'm curious about this. What's the justification Satyen or smrita can give to this couple jumping the queue if they are getting married like say in a week's time.

Would it not convey that the parashars are less invested in the other couple . Of course they needn't care about harisha but surely there's got to be some talk around Rakshit and his would be ( I forgot her name . In this moment it's not coming to me 🤣)

Will Smrita will give in or simple wedding no .. i don’t think so . Also i want them to get married with joy and pride rather then court marriage . So many emotions are involved ... Viveka is Akash support system and most favorite child .to give away Viveka will be tough on him . Akash and Viveka relationship seem strongest out of all relation in this story .

From Smrita’s mood this morning, it would still happen, the week after Satyen returned home

To her, giving up the big flashy life was an extraordinary ask, but then Satyen struggling for life was an extraordinary situation as well

She milked the rushed wedding to the extreme with her high society friends.

In a way this rushed wedding had “Saved” her a ton of embarrassment from having to explain why Raanav Viveka wedding happened at a Rohini apartment complex community center as it was originally planned when the engagement was on. How ever terrible it was, Satyen's state acted as a equalizer

This morning less than 25 people gathered at the Parashar mansion to attend both weddings, the Mathurs were all in attendance, so were the Shrivastavs, Bua’s face covered in complete shock. Anil Chachu and Garima Chachi had arrived last night, amid Dadi’s speculation that Viveka must be pregnant. The Asthanas were not invited much to Bua’s chagrin. Smrita didn’t care for such compliance of family protocol etc

Satyen was around 5-10% better, his bloodwork was improving but only so slightly.

The wedding was a somber event

Viveka dressed elegantly in a scarlet red Kanjivaram saree with meenakari peacock motifs all over in purple and green

The green/purple embellished blouse breathtakingly beautiful completely backless with an array of shoestring like criscross cords

It was Bua’s gift for Harshu’s wedding, she had even packed it in her carry on to bring with her to the destination wedding

There was no way Viveka would buy herself a Rs.40,000 saree

It was good in a way, because it stood out a bit in front of Lekha’s custom made lehenga in hot pink

How could anything even match a 1 crore lehange… Viveka shook her head in bemusement

She felt zero envy for the wealthy

Completely soaking in India’s economic issues had over time heightened her sense of the magnitude economic inequality around her.

When she saw a 1 crore lehenga, she wondered how much went to the craftsmen

There was no comparison in jewelry either, some by design some because of affordability

Viveka wore Anubha’s Mom’s kundan set and that was it

Lekha contrasted her hot pink with genuine mined sapphire and sparkling diamonds

Smriti had strangely not discriminated between the two and both received a gorgeous ruby and diamond set

Anubha would later speculate, Smrita might have bought it years ago when she had decided Raanav’s wife was going to be someone of the Parashar stature

Anubha wanted to leave that to Viveka’s choice

She was progressive and non-pushy

Which was another thing Dadi hated about her

Anubha and Akash rushed to Kamal’s Fa’s flagship store in GK to pick out a fine black bead one with a micro diamond pendant and matched it with a black bead bracelet with a diamond tear drop for the days when Viveka wanted to ditch the one around the neck

In fact Anubha didn’t expect her to wear any of it

When it was brought out and Raanav was requested to tie it around Viveka’s neck

Lekha’s mother Rumi tandon had given a sideeye to Smrita, she had actually forgotten to arrange that for her daughter, missing out on a theatrical display opportunity of a Rs.10 crore mangal sutra.

The men wore peach and gold sherwanis

The house was strung up with rose buds and lights

Jasmine was flown in from Coimbatore for the interior

It was stately and understated all at the same time.

Smrita oddly took a liking to Dadu, and was seen kneeling down by his chair talking to him

It vanished when she stepped away from him

Anubha and Akash spent the morning ensuring Dadi did not get an opportunity to mingle with the Tandons

Anubha would wickedly comment to Akash why Ranjit Tandon’s wife’s name was Rumi, did she change it to fit her social status and if she was named RUKMINI or something pedestrian (pedestrian for Tandons)

The food was tasteful and elegantly displayed just as always the wedding happened at 10:00 AM the guests arriving at 9:00 and brunch was served at noon with an array of revolving finger foods being wheeled in and out of the central courtyard

Naina did not shame the Mathurs and strangely decided to lock away her tantrums and show up for the wedding

maybe she hoped Inder was going to be there but he could not make it since his parents were still in New Delhi

and his brother had ordered him to stick around to do some real work

all this happened too soon for vivek's parents between discovering said the ends car wreck and to the wedding it was barely five days time in fact

The Parashar kids were married on December 12

The Mathurs Asthanas and Shrivastavs were headed to Harshu-varsha wedding tonight and early tomorrow which was to happen in Thailand

But Dadi did manage to “bump into” Rumi Tandon

More on that later….

Two of Raanav’s closest friends and rakshit’s closest friends showed up to the wedding

Kalyani attended too since she checked out early from her December vacation, and found herself liking Diya Mathur

But at all other times she literally walked behind Viveka holding her pallu

They went to the hospital to seek Satyen’s blessings before the brunch, the ICU allowed exactly 5 minutes for the family to gather, as a special circumstance

The floor filled with gawkers and onlookers upon hearing the news

Docs and nurses who were on call in other wings of the hospital flooded the lobby of the VIP wing to catch a glimpse of the VVIP couples

Lekha traveled with an entourage of lehenga holders and a secretary of some sort

Viveka wore her garland but, took it off for the car ride and until she arrived in the lounge unlike Ms Princess over there

Tears streamed down to his pillow as he watched Viveka in the red saree and sindoor

“Good deal Ms Mathur” he chuckled teasing

“Oh yeah Satya she is keeping her name” Smrita thought to announce it to the world diabolically😈

Hello Nisha, one of my friend suggested this story and I am so glad she did. Loving this twist of pride and prejudice.

All the characters of this tale are so real. I really loved Anubha and Akash. Super supportive parents and cool couple they are. Viveka, with her right attitude towards life and so grounded. Raanav, a good person, just needs to learn to not judge a person based on their financial background. And all others with their faults and merits.

Coming to the update, I was surprised Viveka said yes to fake marriage or the one which has an expiry date. But as you said, it's not in her nature to owe somebody. She cannot live with guilt. Let's see how this decision is going to turn out. How are they going to tell the families. ?
