He has done his BTech (at around 23) + worked for few years at Idea, Dell and HCL...so 3-4 years at least there.

Then he joined theatre, and his first show officially released in 2016.

He once said that he regrets he hadnt come to the industry earlier...since most of his colleagues had started at a much younger age.

So if he is 29 or 30 as some claim...then he was only 24 when he came to the industry...which is pretty young for a man. Why would he regret then?

He probably means if he started early he would've been more established by now

and had more shows in his career. Zayn is 22 and happy to get a big show in his first role,

so now hopefully his success, will continue but starting early is always better but nothing guarantee

in life young or old age
