If a Kolkata movie was remade in Bollywood

Do you watch bengali movies? If so, which movie would you like to be remade in Bollywood and who should be cast in the movie?

Personally i really like some of the Kolkata movies they have this classic aura in them and especially the ones which are based in the pre independence era like kadambari or even the rituparna ghosh movies.

No please they're going to ruin Bengali films. I mean they made a Jalebi out of the beauty that Praktan is.

I'd love to watch Belaseshe, but I doubt if anybody could give it the empathetic treatment that it deserves. The characters especially.

Shaare Chuattor would be a riot if a proper director can take it up.

Don't know what they will do with non commercial films. They'll probably remake some Nandita-Shibaprosad movie. They were anyways gonna remake Posto with Rishi and Neetu Singh. I guess Haami too would work. Nowadays it looks like they make films such a way that it can be easily remade in hindi, hence so much drama.

I love bengali movies,i hope they make it,i want these to be remaked dahan,chokher bali,subhodrishti and bariwali

They already remade Raamdhanu as 'Hindi Medium' (although they never admitted it).

How exactly? Ramdhanu and Hindi Medium are two completely different films on a very common theme prevalent throughout the country. Add to that Ramdhanu was a horrible, over the top pyan pyanani film. Hindi Medium was smartly written and very well made.

Also as it was as different as chalk and cheese, the makers of Ramdhanu had to withdraw the copyright claim and Hindi Medium won the case.

Also, about jalebi, true the remake was a disaster. I never saw jalebi but saw clips of it and ayesha's character was butchered completely. In praktan one can sense the dilemma and pain through rituparna's subtle acting. She is such a fabulous actress but in jalebi that was completely ruined. Also jalebi seemed more like a Saas Bahu drama than the ups and downs of a married couple

I really wanted Parineeta and goynar baksho to be remade in bw but seems like it's better untouched
