Edited : I'm kind of glad that I didn't read this at night. Wouldn't have slept easy after this 😳.

It was going so beautifully. Yes, Khushi's nervousness and helplessness was palpable, but I could still feel the warmth of the father-daughter bond in their shared silence while listening to songs and reading... like the warmth of a blanket in wintry nights.

And when her father suggested her to sing for the radio commercial, it was almost like a blanket + fireplace.

But the next part snatched the blanket and extinguished that fireplace immediately... replacing it with icy coldness.

I've no clue why her father chose to tell her about the debts. It does seem like he genuinely loves and trusts her. But, it's difficult to appreciate those sentiments when he doesn't give a damn about her feelings and dreams. What kind of a love is this?! He seems caring when he says that he will call everyday and she can complain about everything... but why even lead her to a path where she will be unhappy and full of complaints for the rest of her life??! It's so difficult to understand people like him 🤔.

I feel for all those real life Khushis who get buried under family responsibilities and upholding the traditions and honors .

For a second I thought I was dreaming, rather Khushi was dreaming. Shashi put an end to it. How old was Khushi again? 18 years. I don't think Shashi shared about company and debts because he considers Khushi as his son or saviour. I think, he shared to emotionally blackmail her. Fulfilling her dream came so close and went away. Shashi wants to let her sing anonymously so that she can get over her obsession or whatever he thinks it is. Poor girl is stuck between rock and a hard place. After reading this chapter, I am not sure who is going to benefit from the merger. Naksh already expressed his surprise. I just assume, Shashi is playing with them.

That was a good question Khushi asked. Everybody enjoys the melodious voices on radio but, they can't let their own kin sing them. Why?

The misplaced notions of "family honour" were represented so well.In archaic families, these talents were probably taught for nothing except to cater to the idea of the "accomplished" woman. Can't wait for chapter nine :)

I feel bad for khushi she has so many dreams but till now she is unable to convince her father who thinks perusing singing means disgraceful n he couldn’t imagine his daughter in that field n his this orthodox belief will lead khushi to run away which will cost him so badly.

Thank you for the update .kushi is stuck between her love and passion for music and upholding family traditions.

Kushi tried her best to convince her father to stop the marriage and allow her to pursue her dreams to which Shashi did not heed to .He instead tried to emotionally blackmail her by telling her that this marriage was the only way to salvage their debts .He tried to offer her an olive branch by asking her to sing a jingle once anonymously on the radio in his friend’s radio programme so that she could satisfy her curiosity.

Kushi seems helpless at the moment she has been asked to follow rules laid down by the family which gives little or no scope for dreams ambition or career .Will have to wait and see if kushi toes the family line or seeing the present scenario kushi gets frustrated and goes out of the way and elopes before the marriage.

I feel bad for Shashi..

He can't see above the fake traditions ..

He has fed well both of his daughters..

He has spent money on their education, clothing n all luxuries ..

But he can't allow her daughter to follow what she wants to..

He appreciates the singers enjoys listening to songs but can never bear to see Khushi singing ..

Those singers r not his daughters so he doesn't care for their honor..

But when it comes to Khushi,his prestige takes the front seat..

On the other hand,he is under the burden of debts.. He needs the merger n this alliance may support his business ..

His daughter requests him to not marry her off for this purpose n he reminds her of her responsibilities..

Now where is his so called Honor n Pride ..

I don't say that he doesn't love his daughter,but this's not the way how is he treating her ..

Khushi is depressed..

She may or may not response to Arnav's offer to help but she is feeling depressed n sad right now..

BTW,Arnav's motives don't sound so good,at least to me..

Let's see what's there in store for us..

Oh mine, I love this story as it unveil each chapter .... mysterious, thrilling and exciting is what I felt going through each update. Love your writing and the way you portrait feelings if each characters. Looking forward. Thanks for sharing the story with us 😍
